What is the latest version available of Windows Live Essentials?

As for the components that come with the downloading of Windows Live Essentials, I'm not talking about Windows Photo Viewer but rather Windows 'Live' Photo Viewer or they one and the same? Will Windows Live Photo Gallery play and upload .gif photos to another site i.e. Facebook, etc.? I have Windows Photo Viewer and it cannot open .gif photos that are set as .gifs, but opens them as inactive, flat photos.
