I used to believe that if you'd successfully managed to do something once, you could do it again. My faith in this maxim is now being stretched as a result of my failure to configure a new Movie Maker I'm attempting. My instinctive reaction is that I've missed a really important (but basic step out) but for now (12 hours after I set out this latest voyage) I'm pretty rudderless. Inclose a screenshot in the hope that someone can diagnose the problem just by looking at it.

In the past I've successfully uploaded youtube content and converted it using YTD downloader. The legacy of these you can see in what I'll call the film clippings. Now so far as I can remember I've repeated the same process but this time generated an icon circled in red. It's a two frame piece of animated film reel. Whatever it is, it seems that when its dragged to the video editing function, it doesn't work and doesn't display anything to edit. Once the video runs through the stills that proceed it, it simply gives a black screen. Curiously though, it does support the soundtrack

As I said, my instinct is that its some step I'm missing out right at the start (I am very poorly educated on these issues). It might also have something to do with just where these youtubes are resolving to once they're saved, they seem to scatter all over the place leaving me the job of trying to retrieve them. I have a poor grasp of files, directories, drives, folders, etc and how they all relate to each other

I suspect the answer is reasonably straight-forward as I wouldn't be capable of generating a complex problem, and perhaps on that theme I ought to post a mild request to be patient with me should anyone feel obliged to assist. People who know answers to these things invaribaly tell you what to do largely because it makes perfect sense to them, to someone like myself however, we really need to be told how to do it. It's a common and understandable communication problem across all areas IT between the expert and inexpert I'm afraid

Anyway, help much appreciated. I can assure you that I have tried and haven't gone running to the first fora I found the moment something went wrong, but I'm pretty well at a loss and am pretty close to waving the white flag and giving this up as something I can't do
