Using Outlook 14.4.1 on a Mac OS 10.9.2, Outlook won’t open. When I click on the icon, it seems to open, then closes itself automatically.

I'm using Outlook 14.1.1 on a Mac OS 10.9.2.  Outlook won't open. When I click on the Outlook icon, it seemingly opens, then closes itself automatically. Any advice?
