Hi there
I am in the process of moving all of my pcs and tablets and phones to windows 8 moving away from Android Mac etc. I have an existing Sky drive account that I have had for years with the 25 GB free loyalty upgrade attached to it. I have now created my own domain name with my own email address names and have created a new Microsoft Account as part of the move. I have been trying to move my free 25GB allowance to my new 7 GB account but it appears impossible. I have read on a the Microsoft site somewhere that as it is not possible to rename the main email address on a Microsoft account in order to keep using the 25 GB allowance unless it is renamed to a Outlook or Hotmail address. As such I have had to create a new Microsoft account with my new email address and now only have access to 7GB. I read also though if a new Microsoft account is created due to the need of changing email address etc, then as long as Microsoft can verify that the old address was eligible for the 25 GB and the new account is owned by the same person and the change is recent then they have the ability to upgrade the NEW account to the 25GB for free. I would like to investigate this further. My old Microsoft account email address is *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. I have transferred all of the files to the new Sky drive account on *** Email address is removed for privacy *** and I am happy for the old Sky drive account to be deleted once my new Sky drive/Microsoft account is upgraded. Please advise as soon as you can. Thanks very much and kind regards.
