My mother got frozen out of her email account because it was compromised. Now when she tries to sign back in using the correct password it tells her it is incorrect. This is definitely not error on her part because i tried her password many times myself.
So she sent one of the account verification forms to MY email address. She filled it out, DOB, mothers country of birth, credit card info etc but they returned it back saying "Unfortunately, we were unable to verify your
ownership of this account using the information you provided". They continue to do this for every attempt and their only solution is "try another form". We have no more data to
give. My mother checks her email once a week and hasn't sent one for months.
When i tried to ring Microsoft support I was put on hold for 40 minutes then told that because her account wasn't a paid subscription that they couldn't help over the phone.
What can we do about this? Someone is obviously trying to/has accessed her email account.
