I have not been able to send/receive emails in Windows Live in the last several weeks. I receive error:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail (xxxxxxxxx) account. Sorry, we were unable to sign you in to Windows Live ID at this time. Please try again later.

Server Error: 0x80048820

 I am able to access my mail via outlook.com and my android phone so it does not seem related to an account issue.

I need to use the Live program so that I have offline access to my email. It also provided one central point for all my email accounts so I am interested to get it working. I have checked the forums and it seems no one has successfully resolved the issue. Seems most people just gave up and went over to some other email program.

Please advise.
