I have a desktop running W7 Home Premium 64bit and Office 2014 and a netbook running W7 Starter and Office 2010.
The desktop is OK sending and receiving my hotmail.com.au emails using Outlook Office 2014.
The net book is only used during overseas holidays (4 to 5 months a year) and was happily sending and receiving my hotmail.com.au emails in Outlook Office 2010 for a number of years until recently.
My modus operandi with the netbook is to type all my emails off line when I have a free moment so that when we hit a hot spot all that I need to do is to log in, open Outlook Office and the emails waiting in the Outbox are sent. At the same time my emails are downloaded from the server to my Inbox and, again, I can deal with them offline at my leisure. We are on holidays and hate sitting at hot spots typing and opening emails. So whilst we have a coffee or lunch the Office mailboxes are being updated. This works perfectly when we use a motorhome and we may only find a hotspot a few times a week.
At the time of losing connectivity we were in Cuba and the only internet access is by purchasing a one hour "scratchy" which contains a WiFi User ID and PIN. Hot spots are very isolated and are usually in a park, one side of a street for a block, certain hotel verandas, etc. Quality, poor.
I had successfully sent and downloaded my emails, closed the connection and proceeded to deal with my emails offline. The next time I opened the computer was to write emails to leave in the Outbox until connected.
A few days later I purchased another hour of WiFi (a different city but same provider) but on this occasion when I powered up no connection could be made to the Hotmail.com.au server.
The Send/Receive Error Message is:
I have only opened Outlook Outlook after opening my hotmail.com.au account in IE, removed the account and initialised a new one without success, etc.
What changes can I make to have the system working again please???
