I have received the above message for one of two Hotmail accounts that I run through Windows Live Mail 12. The problem has only occurred since I upgraded to Windows 10 and the email account still works fine on my mobile phone.

I have tried uninstall and reinstall of the email account but now I don't have any of the account's folders on my laptop. I have also tried the online fix, which tells me that the problem has been sorted but it isn't!?

Is anyone in a similar situation able to give advice please?
