Unable to add alternate email address on my outlook email

Hi everyone,
I am stuck.
I have tried to add alternate email address on my outlook email.

When I enter my email, the response is-

There's a temporary problem

There's a temporary problem with the service. Please try again. If you continue to get this message, try again later.

I have waited many days and tried everything I can think of.
