Hello -  I am a relatively "new" MAC user so if you could provide me with an answer to this really frustrating challenge, I'd appreciate it.

My issue is that I am trying to run an auto-update on my Microsoft Software on my Macbook Air and I cannot do so because it says I must shut-down certain programs, and I have been a 20+ year windows user, and have NO idea how to shut down these programs, or what they even do, or how to find them.

So I am hoping for an easy way to get around this.  I'm wondering if I can force-quit these programs?  I am trying to QUIT the following: Microsoft Database Daemon and SyncServicesAgent, so I can run the update easily.

Note I need a very easy answer because I am not "MAC-Savvy" as a lot of people on these boards are.

Also my outlook suddenly started crashing once I tried to troubleshoot what I found on the other responses....I am getting a major crash area, but posted that Q on another post.  Not sure if this has anything to do with it.
