Trusted devices – keeps telling me to open in IE when opened in IE

When I attempt to verify my computer, it opens a link in IE. Tells me it needs a code. IT texts me the code, I enter, the next screen tells me

Visit https://account.live.com/trustedvice on Internet Explorer from the Windows 8 device you would like to trust.

I'm on Internet Explorer.

I c/p link, it just gives me the exact same site.
