trouble activating my fsx product key standard edition

hello ms community, i recently bought the game Microsoft flight simulator X but when it asks if i want to activate my code now or later i click on now but when i type me code in it says : an error occurred while attempting to activate this product. the problem may be due to an incomplete installation of the application. re installing the application may solve the problem. otherwise, please contact product support for assistance.

now i re-installed the program 3 times and it still didn't work so i called Microsoft they said they didn't know anything about the game cause its older and i should post my questions here, so i did earlier and here they said i should call again so i did and they said i should post it here again so for the final time im posting this, please dont answer that i need to call them cause that doesn't work please help me with this cause i really want to play the game.
