I have used Windows Live Mail for many years on a Windows Vista computer. Recently got a new laptop with Windows 8.1 and wanted to use Windows Live Mail to manage 3 email accounts from 3 different sources (a Hotmail account, a Gmail account, and a company email address on Rackspace), because I like being able to toggle between the various accounts in one spot. So I downloaded and installed Windows Live Mail 2012.
When I setup the company account and imported the emails, many of the messages in my Inbox were time stamped with the date and time of the import, rather than the received date and time. They aren't all sequential messages - I have some that still show the time stamp from January 2014 and some messages from January 2014 now show a time stamp of 3/28/14 at 10:29pm - which is when I imported the messages. They aren't all from the same sender either. And the original send/receive time stamp is still in the header of the email when I open the email (and it's still in the source code of the email headers), but they show the import time stamp in the list view. This did not happen to my Hotmail or Gmail accounts, only my company account on Rackspace.
I have tried deleting that account from Windows Live Mail and then creating a new account and re-importing the folders and messages, but the same problem still happens. I have checked the Rackspace server and the time stamps have not changed there - only in Windows Live Mail. How can I get the list view to display the true date/time stamp and not the import date/time?
