I do not seem to able to log into Windows Live Mail 2012 to receive emails.

The error message is:

Unable to send or receive messages for the bt internet.com account

A TCP/IP error occurred while trying to send data to the server.

However, if i set up a new account Windows Live mail will happily download all the messages up to date which are

currently held on the server.
