I have used the photo editing tools provided by photo gallery of Windows 10. I later find that the photos' sizes have been decreased by a large extent, say from 10 MB to 3MB. How does it affect my photo? Will it affect the resolution and the quality of my photos?

I am in nervous that it will cause any unchangeable damage to my photos' quality.
