i'm using Windows 7, wlm Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3508.1109) and gmail set up for POP 3 account. All of the email to my wlm account downloads but some of my wife's messages do not download. They are in the google cloud since she can view them on her phone but they are not downloading to my desktop. Some days it works well and others not. I have restarted the program and the computer but it's not helping. We've been using wlm for years with mostly no problems but she has had this happen several times. I don't want to use IMAP.
Any ideas??

any help would be greatly appreciated

I have had a Dell XPS 14Z PC for a year.  It was preloaded with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit operating system which included Windows Live Mail.  I imported my Telstra Bigpond and Hotmail email accounts onto WLM.  Until this morning I was always able to open WLM from the icon, but today it will not get past the WLM loading graphic which says 'Starting...' and has a small blue ring continually rotating.  If I click on the icon on the task bar or Start menu I can still open and send a new email, event or contact and it also tells me when I have a new message but I cannot get into the actual program to view emails, contacts, events.  I do not want to lose the contents of my Inbox, sent emails or list of contacts.  I use WLM every day.  I have tried the repair Windows Essentials option but to no avail.  I have also gone to Task Manager to delete the wlm process and restarted but this makes no difference.  I am reluctant to uninstall/install WLM as I do not want to lose any information held.  Can someone please help? Thanks.

I recently updated my PC from Windows 8 to 8.1.
I was running 2 accounts on that PC, each having his/her own Windows Live Mail individually. After the update WLM started in one account. In the other account it sort of freezes during startup and the processor uses 30% of its capacity for this start-up of WLM. Only via task manager I can stop this.
I tried to repair WLM via the Configuration Panel, This did not help. The I removed all WLM files in the user/apps directory an dinstalled again WLM without success. Is WLM not compatible with W8.1, or has anyone an idea to fix this?
I can successfully search my WLM messages by specifying specific words or phrases contained in the body of the message. However I must specify the words exactly as contained in the message.

For example, I can successfully find a message that contains  "that's pretty funny". However if I search for "funny that's pretty" nothing is found.

Is there a way to search for any occurrence of multiple words with out having to specify the exact phrase?

Perhaps there are special operators that can be used like "and" "or" "*", etc?

I tried "funny", "that's pretty" but found nothing.

I am no longer able to access WLM via mail client Windows Live Mail. I can access WLM via a browser. I recently upgraded Internet Explorer from version 10 to 11 and Palemoon from 24.1.1 to 24.1.2.  Are these browsers valid for mail client Windows Live Mail? Help!

I'm running Windows Live Mail (WLM) 2012 Build 16.4.3508.0205 with Explorer 10 version 10.0.9200.16736. I have not installed any of the other Windows Live Essentials products.

WLM is slow at starting up - it can sometime take a couple of minutes to start synchronising with my POP3 mail server. This problem only started several months ago - possibly since I upgraded to Explorer 10 or after installing another Windows Update.

Closer inspection shows that WLM is stalling while the Windows Live Communications Platform is starting up in the background.

Is a solution available to stop the Windows Live Communications Platform from stalling the start up of WLM? Can the Windows Live Communications Platform be disabled without impacting WLM?

Any advice would be appreciated - thanks

I've looked everywhere here and on the web for resolution to this issue.  Here goes:  With WLM reply-to, WLM replies to original email address and adds a semi-colon and a space (apparently as designed).  However, this causes an 800CCC0f error resulting in the message stuck in OUTBOX.  But this can easily be remedied by REMOVING the space after the address, and send/receive.  Readiing about 800CCC0f there are patches and resets, but this is the only such problem I have in this regard.  Those fixes seem a little drastic!
