I have had a Dell XPS 14Z PC for a year. It was preloaded with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit operating system which included Windows Live Mail. I imported my Telstra Bigpond and Hotmail email accounts onto WLM. Until this morning I was always able to open WLM from the icon, but today it will not get past the WLM loading graphic which says 'Starting...' and has a small blue ring continually rotating. If I click on the icon on the task bar or Start menu I can still open and send a new email, event or contact and it also tells me when I have a new message but I cannot get into the actual program to view emails, contacts, events. I do not want to lose the contents of my Inbox, sent emails or list of contacts. I use WLM every day. I have tried the repair Windows Essentials option but to no avail. I have also gone to Task Manager to delete the wlm process and restarted but this makes no difference. I am reluctant to uninstall/install WLM as I do not want to lose any information held. Can someone please help? Thanks.
For example, I can successfully find a message that contains "that's pretty funny". However if I search for "funny that's pretty" nothing is found.
Is there a way to search for any occurrence of multiple words with out having to specify the exact phrase?
Perhaps there are special operators that can be used like "and" "or" "*", etc?
I tried "funny", "that's pretty" but found nothing.
I'm running Windows Live Mail (WLM) 2012 Build 16.4.3508.0205 with Explorer 10 version 10.0.9200.16736. I have not installed any of the other Windows Live Essentials products.
WLM is slow at starting up - it can sometime take a couple of minutes to start synchronising with my POP3 mail server. This problem only started several months ago - possibly since I upgraded to Explorer 10 or after installing another Windows Update.
Closer inspection shows that WLM is stalling while the Windows Live Communications Platform is starting up in the background.
Is a solution available to stop the Windows Live Communications Platform from stalling the start up of WLM? Can the Windows Live Communications Platform be disabled without impacting WLM?
Any advice would be appreciated - thanks
