Recently, since I thought that my Windows Live Mail was slow, I re-installed Windows Live Essentials 2012. It included Movie Maker.

My e-mail was working, but I found that I could not start Movie Maker, seeing the message "Sorry, movie maker can't start. Make sure if your computer meets the minimum requirement...".

I uninstalled Essentials 2012 and re-installed 2011, but the issue persisted.

My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1.

I really miss Movie Maker. If anyone has the solution, please help me.

On my old Computer with Widows 7 I never had any problem in setting up groups of Contacts in Windows Live Mail and send a mass email by just entering the Group Name.

I now have Windows 8.1 and it does not work. I set up a Group of Contacts as usual but when I try and send an email having entered the Group name as the recipient, the email refuses to go and I get a message asking me to enter a valid email Address. Most annoying as it means entering say a dozen email Addresses individually rather than just one.

Any suggestions how to solve this most appreciated.

Hey there,

since a few days the problem appears, that I'm opening a new mail-window in Windows Live Mail, pasting a copied link out of a browser-site or other email-draft. After I paste the link or a mail-to-link into the window, the link disappears and only the text is standing there.

Checking and comparing the source code, original is correct:

<a href="mailto:*** Email address is removed for privacy ***">*** Email address is removed for privacy ***</a><br />
<a href="http://www.test.eu">www.test.eu</a>

And the HTML-result in the new window is:

<a style="href: &quot;mailto:*** Email address is removed for privacy ***&quot;">*** Email address is removed for privacy ***</a><br />
<a style="href: &quot;http://www.test.eu&quot;">www.test.eu</a>

So Windows Live Mail puts the link automatically into a wrong style-tag. Only manually adding the link by right-click resolves the problem, a mail-to-reference is even in this way not possible.

I even installed the latest update from Live Mail 2011 to 2012. I tried to use UTF-8 or West-European Encoding. I searched for settings in the options. Of cause I'm drafting the mail in HTML-Mode. I scanned for viruses and malware. Nothing. Any solution?

Uwe Martens

Hi,

Please can you advise me....Windows live keeps filtering our mail before I get to read some of them. As most of our e-mails are business related, this is some concern, I can log into my bt 365 e-mails and they are showing there? I have gone into view and show all e-mails but I still hear a incoming mail, then it goes before I can read it....not every mail though?

regards

Hello,

since this morning I have been getting this error message when I try to send and receive mail using  windows live mail which checks my live.jp mailbox.

To send and receive messages in your Hotmail account, go to http://hotmail.live.com on the Web, or try again later. To get help from Windows Live Customer Support, go to http://support.live.com and click Windows Live Mail in the list of services.

Server Error: 3204
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE20003

I have tried going to control panel and doing  repair program option under uninstall/modify program, but problem persists.

tried looking for similar questions but everything I find is for widows 8 (like doing registry modification or something of the sort), but I am still using windows 7.  Pls help !!!

Calender update mode seems to get stuck when the program is first opened.  if you cancel calender event update, then the old/original error message above re-appears.

tried to repair windows essentials 3 times already.    No change.

I am told Windows Live Mail can't be started because MSVCR110.dll is missing, and I get the same message when I try to start Movie Maker and Windows Live Photo Gallery.

I opened Programs and Features and tried to repair all 3 programs. Repair was apparently successful, but I still get the same message for all 3 programs.

I then tried to reinstall all 3 but was told Windows Live Mail could not be in stalled and that failure prevented the other 2 programs from installing.

URGENT help resolving this problem would be appreciated.

Thanks and regards,

Roy

Windows Live Mail marks Junk Mail messages flagged as NOT Junk Mail as READ when they have NOT and have only been marked as Not Junk

this makes it difficult to see what has NOT been read when you go into your folder

Microsoft need to review their junk mail options, including marking messages/emails as containing viruses - rather than just 'junk mail' or block sender, etc

but the main issue is it marking it as read when you are ONLY marking it as not junk

Message: Windows Live Mail could not be started.  The application was unable to open the Windows Live Mail message store.  Windows Live Mail was unable to locate its message database.  If you've moved the database files to a new location, click OK to reset the database path to that location.  Otherwise, click Cancel to proceed.

When Live Mail then restarts it polls my online email servers and retrieves new messages. How can I try to find the missing database?
