I have been attempting to change my security settings on Windows Live Mail.  Windows Live Mail won't save the changes, so that each time I close the program and reopen, the settings have reverted to the previous ones and I have to redo the process.  How do I get the application to save settings?  If I have to reinstall, can I do that if I no longer have the install disk? And how do I back up my mailbox so I don't lose saved emails?

Some send emails from Outlook.com do not seem to sync any timestamp with Windows Live Mail. As a result, the timestamp in Windows Live Mail becomes the date/time the email was synchronized. So to be clear: the timestamp is fine on Outlook.com, just not in Windows Live Mail.

Is there any way to correct those mails to the right timestamp? They are only a few emails so I can do it manually if necessary.

Thanks in advance!

I recently purchased a Toshiba C50-A-1DR laptop equipped with Windows 8. Whilst using Windows Live Mail I cannot delete the Deleted Items folder which is filling up. When I select the Delete Items folder and then press right click I receive the option to clear the folder. Once selected I receive a message 'An unknown error has occurred. Some items in the Deleted Items folder could not be deleted. A problem has occurred please try again'. Trying again produces the same result

Since the fall 2013 purchase of a new Dell running Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2013, our office migrated from Outlook Express to Windows Live Mail.  We have approx. 100 employees who we contact via email. We have them set up in two categories - new hires and returning staff.  Upon initial set up, the categories work fine when we send emails, but then over a period of several days or weeks, selecting a category to send an email results in only some, random individuals in the group receiving it.  Belatedly, If we click on the plus to expand the sent to list, we can see that only half or less of the addresses in the category are included in the sent email.  This creates issues in running our business effectively.  If I rebuild the category, it works for a while, then randomly stops again.  I have seen the same issue mentioned in other blogs and forums going back through 2012 and 2013 with no solutions.  Running repairs and reinstalling are ineffective. Is this an inherent problem with Windows Live?

After I load Windows Essentials Live mail it opens once and reads my mail.  The second time I open Windows Essentials Live mail it says Calender Data corrupt.  I have tried deleting the calender data in the appdata folder.  I have tried deleting the whole Windows Live Mail mail folder in the appdata folder.  I have deleted the registry keys.  I have tried uninstalling Windows Essentials and deleting the folder out of the programs folder.

Each time I get windows live mail to work it works once until I close it the amount of time it is open doesn't seem to matter.  The second time I open it windows live mail tells me calender Data is corrupt.

keep getting this error, have used the hotmix mamy times, it seems to fix error for limited time period... only have 1 account on client,

Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3522.0110)

xps I7 cpu, 12gb ddr3,
windows 7 ultimate 64bit

bullguard internet security

so shouldn't be a problem, network firewall is not blocking live mail....

For the past week or so I've been receiving the following error message on Windows Live Mail:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail account.

Server Error: 3204

server: "https://mail.services.live.com/deltaSync_2.0.0/Sync.aspx"

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE20003

I've tried opening and closing the program, restarting the computer,  deleting and adding the account,  and installing the latest version of Live Mail. Nothing is working. Could you please assist me?

Other info:

-  No issues with syncing mail on my smartphone or accessing it through the Microsoft Live website

-  Syncing status on live mail repeatedly attempts to update my calendar

Thanks for the help.
