Hi there,

I have zip files that are emailed to my work email address and I pick them up through Windows Live Mail. Recently I have not been able to unzip the files as Winzip comes back with a message saying "Error: Central directory not found".

If I get the email sent to my yahoo email address and pick it up through the web based yahoo email, I can open the zip file no problem.

I have tried WinRar, Winzip and Winzip 64bit all with similar messages from Windows Live Mail. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit.

If on the same laptop, I login to my domain provider and login to the webmail for my work email, I can download the winzip and open it without any issues.

My conclusion is that Windows Live Mail is doing something to the zip attachment.

I have unchecked the tickbox for "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus" - get the email resent and still get the same message.

What has happened to Windows Live Mail with regard to zip files and how do I stop it happening?

Thanks

When I chose to reply for a message from my sent items folder in windows live mail by clicking Reply All Option, it select all concerned address including me. And I have to delet my address from the list of senders to avoid the mail to send back me. Kindly provide a solution for the problem to exclude me from all senders .

Regards

Aneesh

Is Microsoft not supporting WLM anymore?

I have lost more email then I would have imagined. The trouble seems to start with the constant replenishing WLM is doing, and then suddenly thousands of emails have only headlines, no body. Or: various headlines have all the same email body. And there is no solution it seems.

Sub-question: Is there a facility in WLM to save and/or archive certain emails which I want to keep, - and dump the rest.

Another sub-question: Why does the cursor of the mail program jump back to the top when you open a main folder in the email directory. Then you have to scroll all the way down again. Painful!

Is there an Upgrade for WLM?

Thanks,

Otto

Windows live mail will not accept the log in information.  I went through all of the settings with my ISP provider  and can log on the web mail with the log on and password. However when I try to send outgoing mail it will not accept the log on information
