Using win 7 & win Live Mail, I can receive e-mail but unable to send.

Receive the following from my ISP, shaw.ca;

The SMTP server returned an error.

Subject 'test 16/4'

Server Response: +OK POP3 ready

Server: 'mail.shaw.ca'

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC60

Protocol: SMTP

Port: 110

Secure(SSL): No

Have spent hours with the ISP & they say everything at their end works. I am able to use their webmail without problems. Settings have been entered many times & the ISP confirms they are correct. Have attempted to repair windows essentials. Everything was working normally for months prior to this problem.

Is it possible to now upgrade Vista from windows mail to windows live mail?

Laptop - Windows 7 - Windows Live Mail

When I go to my e-mails I am getting a pop up window containing the above error message.

The emails that I can see listed are accessible as normal and I can send e-mails. However my inbox has not updated for the last couple of days.

My smart phone and tablet which are synced to WLM have also stopped receiving - They use Android 'Jelly Bean' as the O/S

Oddly my tired old desktop which is also sync'd to WLM is running XP is happily updating and send/receiving via Outlook.com.

I have seen numerous references to this exact error across the web and there are suggested fixes which usually included deleting the e-mail address and then re cresting it. However I don;t to do thid in case I lose vital data. In any case these 'fixes'apparently work for some but not others.

I had this issue a few weeks ago and after changing my password a few times it seemed to go away. However it's back and this time the 'pasword change fix' hasn't worked,

Please help as this is extremely frustrating.

I am currently using Windows 7 and Windows Live Mail for emailing. Over the last couple of days I have been unable to receive messages. I can retrieve them off of the internet and on my phone but not through my laptop using WLM. I am able to send messages. The messages will begin to be retrieved from the server but will abruptly stop during the download. I get the following error message: Unable to send or receive messages for account. Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0F. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

WLM 2012 is very slow to complete initialization, in the order of 4 or 5 minutes.  Uninstalling and reinstalling will correct the problem for about a week or two, then the initialization problem returns.  I have plenty of memory and CPU available.  Is this a know bug?

Last evening, I tabbed to Windows Live Mail to check email (usually leave Live Mail open) and EVERY single email in EVERY folder spontaneously duplicated as new, unread emails in the Inbox over the following 45-60 seconds.  I immediately closed any open applications/windows and re-ran Security Essentials and Malwarebytes full scans (both apps were up-to-date and are scheduled to run daily).  Nothing found.  I've observed no other unusual activity since then.  I have only ONE email account associated with Live Mail through our ISP, Atlantic Broadband.  I checked with the ISP and they cannot offer an explanation.  Can you suggest what might have caused that activity?

My Windows Live Mail will now not open after crashing several times the last week and downloading already downloaded emails.

I have not tried reinstalling as I don't want to lose all of my emails.

I've been operating this mail program for the last year without a problem and within the last week it's causing trouble.

Hi, I am a new user to Windows Live mail, the issue I am facing in LDAP confugration. I am having the LDAP configuration for Thunderbird but not able to configure this in Windows Live mail. As when trying many options but still the directory does not show any of the contact. Please help.

I re-imported my mail folders into a re-installed Windows Live Mail 2012 (in Windows 7, 64 bit).  Some of the folders are not sorted alphabetically.  As suggested on this forum I have shut and restarted WLM (several times now) but they remain stubbornly not alphabetical.

Any suggestions?

Hi All,

I have a problem viewing images attached to an e-mail when the attachments have the same file name, the version is Windows Live Mail - Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3555.0308).

Say I receive an e-mail with three images attached, all with the file name photo.jpg, when I go to view them, either by clicking 'View slide show' or by double clicking on an individual image as previewed at the top of the reading pane, I always get the last attached image, I cannot view any of the other images.  I believe this is because WLM extracts all the attachments to a temporary folder, and as they all have the same name they overwrite each other leaving the last one standing.

A different e-mail with three images attached named photo1.jpg, photo2.jpg and photo3.jpg display fine if I double click them or view as a slide show.

I've tested this on two different computers with WLM and it happens on both.  Does anyone know a workaround - or how to report this as an issue to Microsoft?

Thanks,

Jono
