Got this error

It was working fine this morning and right now it isn't.

Hello,  I an receiving the error code Error: 0x800488EB in my Windows Live Mail. I have five different email addresses in the Live Mail and still receive three of those without difficulty. Everything has worked fine for a long period of time but this morning two of the addresses are generating the error code and will neither send nor receive emails. Both of these accounts can be accessed just fine on Outlook. I thought perhaps MSN was having troubles as both of them are Msn.com addresses but one of the ones still working is also MSN.com. I have checked the date on my machine, it is fine. I have checked for stuck messages, there are none, I have updated my version of the windows Live Mail to the current one, it did not help. I have checked all the settings in both of my browsers, IE and Firefox and they are all correct. I even tried restoring the machine to a previous date and it made no differance. I went to Outlook and deleted all large files that were saved in the two accounts and that did not help. I removed both accounts from Windows Live Mail and then readded them. That caused them to change to reading that they were synchronizing and would be available in a few minutes. So far they are not and it's been several hours. Please help!

I am running Windows Live Mail 2012 (Build 16.4.3528.0331)

I am getting the error message shown below on my laptop, but not on my desktop. This started this morning.

My laptop is running Windows 7 64-bit with all available Windows Updates.

My desktop is running Windows 7 32-bit with all available Windows Updates.

Which makes me wonder if perhaps there is a problem with WLM on 64-bit versions of Win 7 only.

  Unable to send or receive messages for the MSN (ltbxxxxxxx) account.

Action taken:

  • Removed account from WLM.
  • Uninstalled Windows Essentials, all components (WLM & Writer were only components installed).
  • Restarted the computer
  • Installed WLM 2012 via Windows Essentials (WLM was the only component I choose to install).
  • Added my email account *** Email address is removed for privacy *** (this is the only email account I have)

Results:

  • The Left column says MSN (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***) with sub-folders. The normal Inbox, Drafts, Sent, etc. folders are missing.
  • The right column says:
    Windows Live Mail is synchronizing this account. Check back in a few minutes to read your messages.
  • After 50 minutes, nothing on the screen has changed. So, I clicked Send/Receive on toolbar, and I get the same exact Error 0x800488EB message as I started with (see beginning of this post).
  • I tried exiting the program and restarting. No change. I've tried restarting the computer. No change.

I'm hoping there are some settings or something that can be done on your end, as I'm out of ideas on what I can do to fix things on my end.

I'm unable to send or receive emails through Windows Live Mail.  The problem started within the last 3 hours as I had sent and received several emails earlier this morning.  I was alerted to the problem when I noticed that I had received several emails on my mobile device that had not been delivered to my desktop client so I clicked "update all" and got the 0x800488EB error message.  I then shut down and restarted Windows Live Mail, no help, then restarted my computer, also no help.  I then logged in at Outlook.com, the new emails were there and I was able to recompose and send a time-sensitive email that was in the outbox of my desktop client.  I then deleted that email from my outbox and tried "update all" again to no avail.  What next?

I am unable to reach my msn email account since last night.  This is the error message:

All other email accounts work within Windows Live Mail.

I can get my email on my android phone and tablet app, as well as on the web, so I do have access to the email, but it's very inconvenient, as I use Windows Live Mail when on my computer.

I have perused the other messages relating to this problem and tried a few solutions suggested, none of which have worked.  Here is what I did:

1.  I deleted, then reconfigured my email account

2.  I checked for microsoft updates.  I have none at this time.

3.  I disabled (briefly) my anti virus and firewall

4.  I checked for an email in the outbox

5.  Repaired Windows Live Mail  (I did not uninstall and reinstall, though)  EDIT - I did uninstall and reinstall and it didn't help.

6.  I believe I have the most up to date version of Windows Live Mail

I am using Windows 7,

Till about 2 days back I was happily sending and receiving my mails. But now eventhough I receive mails in Windows Live Mail The mails I send stay in the outbox .I get an error messagewhich says,

I will be thankful if a solution to this problem is given to me.

I am not able to send and receive emails with Windows Live Mail today - the message says there is a Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800488E8.  I cannot find this error code anywhere.  I am running Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3555.038).  My system is Windows 7 (2009) SP1.

Please help.

My MSN account is working fine on my Apple ipad mini.
