When this update installed 5/04 I could no longer access my msn.com email account through Windows live mail.

If I change the date on my pc to 5/3/2014 my email will sync but stops as soon as I put correct date on my pc.

I receive error Sync Error 0x800488EB

‏            I have already posted this error in another section with no help and thought I would try to see if anyone knows in the windows update section.

I have not been able to sync through windows live mail 2012 since Friday 5/08/2014.

Is the update the problem?

I have a problem that is a little different from those posted here.

I have 3 @msn.com email addresses (premium subscriber) that I use on my Live mail. Two of three sync properly but the third will not and is displaying the following message:

Server Error: 0x800488EB

Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800488EB

I've tried the suggestions elsewhere on this forum with no luck.

I have Windows 7 Premium on the computer that I'm having this problem with.

Given the fact that two of three accounts sync properly I'm guessing there may be an issue with the account that doesn't?

Looking for help & suggestions.

Regards,

Gordon

One of our home computers began getting "Server Error: 0x800488EB Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'" last week.  The other computers are fine.  I've deleted and rebuilt the email account several times.  I tried to manually setup the account using POP etc. and it worked but would not bring any email history in.  HELP

Hi, when I try to log into Windows Live Mail I get the following popup message:

Unable to send or receive messages for the [redacted] account.

Server Error: 0x800488EB
Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800488EB

This started yesterday and it's driving me crazy.  I am able to use Outlook without any trouble.  Please help.

For those who are experiencing this error and sync probs I tried this suggestion from somebody else and it is working:

To fix this issue you will need to reconfigure your account.

1. To re-configure your account –  Click the Accounts Tab and Click the + symbol with the @ sign.

2. Type your e-mail address, password and display name.

3. Place a check on “Manually Configure  Server Settings

4. Under “Incoming Server Information” select “IMAP” as server type.

5. In the Server Address field, type imap-mail.outlook.com and in port type 993

6. Place a check on “Requires a secure connection SSL

7. Under “Outgoing Server Information” type smtp-mail.outlook.com as server address and in port type 587

8. Place a check on “Requires a secure connection SSL” and “Requires Authentication

9. Click Next. And you’re done, you should now see a new account added in the left pane of your Windows Live Mail.

10. If you wish to move messages from the previously added account, you can drag messages and drop them to the appropriate folders.

11. Your messages should still all be re-downloaded, except for Sent Messages which you can drag and drop.

12. After your account is setup, you can remove the previous account by right clicking on it and selecting “Remove Account

The only thing I didn't do was remove the old account because Microsoft may fix that eventually.  I'll give them a couple more days on that one.

Hope this helps somebody,

PJ

I have downloaded Windows Live Essentials but can't find how to access Live Mail. There is no icon on the desktop or taskbar. I would be grateful if someone could advise where the dickens it's hiding and how to create either an icon or shortcut on the desktop.

TIA

I have been trying to use my email today with no luck.  Live mail opens but then I get the error message.  I tried to send 2 emails this morning of which both failed.  I keep getting the server error ox800488EB.  Earlier in the day the calendar update kept flashing.  That has since stopped.  Any suggestions?

Good evening:

I am receiving the following error message on my Live Mail account through Windows Live Mail 2011:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Msn (turbo.dog) account.

Subject 'Emailing: d46771ef37f303823d25706d146af713kk'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800488EB

I have tried the steps involving Windows Updates as well as the Live Essentials Repair as previously posted in other forums/discussions and the issue persists.

Please help.  Thank you.
