However all of them seem to be permanently offline

Hi I recently updated to windows live mail with skype and my contacts were imported.
Just the last couple of days my computer won't send or receive my mail on Windows Live Mail. I get Error 3204. I've reinstalled Essentials but it didn't change anything. What is wrong? I notice others have had similar problems and hope you can help. I can use Outlook with Hotmail but prefer Windows Live Mail.

On every occasion I open windows live mail I get an error notice which reads :- "Unable to Send and Receive Messages

I am able to send email but not able to receive. How can I cure this problem?
I have tried several times to reconfigure my windows live mail to sync with Hotmail with no success. I have uninstalled and reinstalled windows essentials with no success. I have rung Microsoft and spoken to 3 different people all of which cannot help

My Windows Live Mail categories keep loosing contacts, totally, partialy. Sometimes it has one contact listed sometimes two, sometimes none. This is extraodinary frustrating and time consuming. All my contacts work individually but make a category and
watch them arrive and go at random times. Bring back XP professional. Please fix this, this is so so anoying and fundimental. It should not be happening. I have repaired Windows Essentilals.

3. Click Programs.
4. Click Programs and Features.
5. Search for Windows Essentials 2012 on the list and then select it.
6. Click Uninstall/Change.
7. Click Repair all Windows Essentials programs.

I back up contacts weekly with no problem However, it would be helpful to also back-up non-deleted e-mails (sent, received, archived). Can this be done in Windows Live Mail?
Since May 21 I have been unable to access my Hotmail Plus account via either Outlook 2010 or Windows Live Mail. This started after I changed my password (coincidence?) and now I can only login via a browser (which works fine). I also seem to have trouble
logging in with SkyDrive unless I have already logged in via the browser. NOTE THAT THIS IS HAPPENING ON 3 DIFFERENT MACHINES, 2 RUNNING WINDOWS 7 AND 1 VISTA.
Symptom: repeated requests for the login password which keep getting rejected even though correct.
Is there possibly something wrong with my Hotmail account that is causing this and, if so, can someone look into resolving this? I have uninstalled and reinstalled all of the pieces at my end and, since it is happening on multiple machines, believe the problem is related to an MS authentication bug.
