When I am using windows live I am receiving all my emails OK but I cannot open News feed emails being sent to me.

A message tells me a problem has occurred.

Am I missing a setting or something?

using Windows Live mail and cannot receive emails with an attachment regardless of size or file type. Can send emails but not receive. Sender gets no notification email didn't go through. I've checked "safety options" and "permanently delete suspected junk email...." is unchecked. Looking forward to help on this.
Thanks,
Peter

I use Microsoft Live Mail....

In my storage folder I had a business folder with lots of sub folders. Somehow it's gone/deleted/vanished no where to be found.

I know it's not there because my 'Message rules' can't redirect mail to those missing folders.

I've looked in C:\Users\usernamexxxx\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail  as advised by others, but the business folder(s) aren't in the list.

So it seems they are permanently gone????? unless someone who I will be grateful to forever lets me know where there may be a trash bin I can recover them from?

many thanks

I was trying to set internet options to run on a Proxy server, and realized my Windows live mail wouldn't send or receive any thing afterwards. It gave me this code Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail (j*********26) account.

Server Error: 0x80048820
Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80048820

I tried to add the server listed to the exceptions in the proxy settings in windows 7 internet options, to see if this would let windows live mail sync, but the only prt of the server address that i could get Internet options to save in the list of exceptions was "https//mail.services.live.com" I didn't put quotes around the server address. Why can't you save the full server address of (windows live mail) hotmail in the list of exceptions in the internet options proxy settings? How can i allow windows live to communicate with the proxy settings enabled for a specific proxy address?

I tried to set up a windows live mail account on my PC yesterday. I normally use outlook.com. During the transfer to Windows live mail, all folders and emails transferred except my inbox. I lost 99% of the messages in my inbox. They are no longer in my outlook.com account and never transferred to the windows live mail application.

Please help to recover the lost emails.

My system is on a laptop running Windows 7 64bit OS.

I had Window Live Mail 11 running while doing some other work on my laptop.  I switched back to see if I'd received any new emails.  When I went to click on an email I got an odd error message (unfortunately I don't recall the exact wording of the message) that stated something about the email content or body not existing or being available.

I figured that perhaps WML 11 had crashed so I shut it down and then reopened it.  WML 11 opened but all 3 accounts that were on it no longer existed.  The folders and subfolders were all gone as were all the emails.  All WML 11 showed is Quick Views, Outbook and Storage Folders.  Next to the Unread email under the Quick Views section no emails show up but I do have Unread Feeds.

I was able to located the folder where WML 11 stores the emails C:\Users\XXXXXXX\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail but when I opened the Inbox folders for each account it shows a handful of email messages at best.  So I'm concerned that I've lost years worth of emails.

I also had one of these three accounts on Outlook 2010 and that too lost all the emails and had to re-synch (if that's the right word) to the email account and re-downloaded the emails which were still out on the server.

So after a little looking around for a solution and coming up with nothing on the net that sounded similar to my situation I decided to play around with the WLM 11 folders a bit to see if I could figure out what happened.

It turns out that I was able to use a previous version of the folder (or is it called a folder restore point) by right clicking on the folders.  So I was excited as there was like 50,000 emails that were being restored.  It said it needed 5 hours to fully restore the one email folder.  So I let it do it's thing and I walked away to do some house work.  When I came back the restore had stopped at some point and couldn't any longer find the email files.  So skipped the files it couldn't find.  After clicking skip for about 100 times I decided to click cancel and the restore stopped.  I right clicked the folder again to start the process again but now there were no previous versions available.  So I was really....lets call it unhappy...about loosing this option to fix my problem.  I had checked the other folders before starting the restore and all the folders had a previous version.  Now suddenly none of the folders had a previous version.  All the folders previous versions were gone.

So essentially somehow tens of thousands of emails across 3 email accounts and on 2 different email software (WLM11 and Outlook 2010) vanished, got moved, or got deleted by some process not initiated by me.  In addition, somehow the restore points were also deleted.  I've never heard of anything like this before.  I've done a virus/spyware scan using my TrendMicro product and nothing was found.

The only lucky part of this story is that I have a back up of all of these emails on a older boxed up desktop.  So they aren't lost forever.  However, I'd still like to get some help with this issue because I'd hate for this to happen ever again and not have any option to recover.  Any ideas on what could have causes something so catastrophic?

Original Title: Windows Live Mail Accounts Vanished
I have recently purchased a Windows 8 phone. I am trying to copy my contacts from Windows Live Mail. I start by clicking on export button and choose the .csv option and create a excel file. When I go into Outlook and import the file all the contacts show up in the list but there is no information against a name, i.e. no 'phone number or e-mail address. My Microsoft Office Excel is an old version running on Windows 7. When I open the excel file all the information for the contacts is there in the fields I checked when creating the file but they seem to disappear when I import to Outlook. Is there a fault or am I doing something wrong? I am following the instructions as carefully as possible.
