I can access account through Hotmail but not on live mail - please help

When I click onto the icon for Windows Live Mail I get a box with a blue border and the title "Windows Live Mail." Below that is a stationary green bar which goes across the box. Below that are tabs "Tasks" and "Errors." How can I use my Windows Live Mail?
I cannot send, reply or forward emails in windows live mail 2012.  Message pops up saying "A prblem occured while trying to open this message. A problem has occured. Please try again."  Have tried repairing, uninstall/reinstall but not resolved.   Live mail appears to work on another user account my computer but no idea why.  Can anyone help?
I ran a "Spybot" scan of my computer and had it fix all errors.  After that scan I could not access Windows Live Email.  I used "Error End" and now can run Windows Live Email again.  However, my folders are there but my emails are missing.  When I first opened Windows Live upon recovery I got the following message.

Windows Live Mail could not be started.  The application was unable to open the Windows Live Mail message store.  Windows Live Mail was unable to locate its message database.  If you've moved the database files to a new location, click OK to reset the database path to that location.  Otherwise, click Cancel to proceed, any existing messages found will be available under Orphaned Accounts. (0x00000000, 997)

I clicked OK and Windows Live opened minus any of my saved emails.  When I open Windows Live now it goes directly to the program but I am missing all of my old saved emails.  I desperately need these emails since there is a lot of business pending replies etc.

How can I find the Orphaned Accounts mentioned in the Windows error message?

Please HELP!

At one time I had Windows Live for email. That account was hacked and locked. I now have Outlook.com. I have a letter icon on my homepage for email, but it is still connected to Windows live mail. Is there any way this icon can open to Outlook.com?  IE10, Windows 7.
