Can I find out if hotmail mail is being picked up?

I've been emailing my daughter in china using hotmail.co.uk address  but haven't heard from her since 27 August. I've told UK Foreign Office about concerns and they are going to email her. What i want to know is there anyway of finding out if she is still picking up her mail on this account? Can Hotmail divulge that information? 
It was Microsoft customer services who told me to post here.
