In Windows 7 and 8.0, I would relocate my user shell folders (the "my" folders: Docs, Pics, Videos, Music) into my SkyDrive folder. This way when I saved a file locally to the default doc location, it was also replicated online and synced to my other computers, plus it was automatically part of my libraries for programs that use that (Media Player/Center, etc). I would really like to do that in Windows 8.1, but I don't want to break anything. I am asking if this is a supported use case.
When I try to relocate a user shell folder from the Properties' location tab, I receive this prompt:
Is it safe to proceed with redirection? Is there any risk of it causing sync issues?
PS. I am testing this on Windows 8.1 RTM from my MSDN evaluation subscription.
