There a couple of routine items that come to my email, a newletter from a nursing home for one, and I want these.  The computer's reaction is to deactivate it and call it a Prohibited File Type.

When I read about letting such files open, it says that leaves my computer open to potential harm, and it does not recommend this action.

Does anyone have experience with his?

Thanks!

When sending an e-mail with a (pdf) file attached, the message transmits, but a message on my file states that the pdf file is a "Prohibited File type" and cannot be transmitted with the text.  However, the recipient received the file and attachment intact.  The pdf attachment opened normally.

With these new updates two days ago, now I can't open a .docx document in Windows Live Mail.  With security on, it says "Prohibited File Type"; with security off, it says "The Microsoft product necessary to open this file is not installed on your computer." I use Microsoft WordStarter and never had a problem opening a .docx attachment in Windows Live Mail before.  What is going on?  Is there a fix other than having to buy a new Word program?

Prohibited File type

Why do I get 'Prohibited File Type' when attempting to view my own photos in 'Sent'? They are successfully received.
