Outlook Rules are not working in MacBook Air

09. May 2014 · Write a comment · Categories: Outlook for Mac · Tags: email account, MacBook Air, pop account

Hi…

This is Prasanna I am using MacBook Pro installed Ms Office 2011 and using outlook.  I have configured more than 2 email ids on it as pop account. But this is not a problem;   problem is I have created some rules to segregate important mails.

Rule one: Apply this rule after the message arrives through the ABC account move it to the ABC folder

Rule Two: Apply this rule after the message arrives through the ABC account and from DEF group move it to GHI folder

Problem I am facing all mails are downloading in both folder

I have tried to create different .olm file for each email account but Microsoft says it is not possible in Mac OS X

Only we can make different .pst file for different email accounts in windows only. So after all I have only one choice now to make rules as per my requirement but it also not working properly. PLEASE HELP ME I HAVE ALREADY REGIESTERED A CASE ID IN MICROSOFT AS: 1246032590

THANKS,

PRASANNA.

I operate 2 acounts on Outlook 2011 a personal pop account and an exchange account for work. Last week for no apparent reason my exchange emails started appearing in my pop account window, how can I turn this off as really need to keep my personal and work emails separate. I am using OS 10.9.2 with Outlook:mac 2011, version 14.4.1

batch delete messages from server

I operate a pop account on my home computer and laptop at work. I do not want to alter my account to remove all messages from server on 1 work station. In Entourage there was the option to select a batch of emails and mark them to delete from server, is there a way I can do this in Outlook for Mac 2011. It is very annoying to have all messages reload on my laptop at work when many have already been dealt with. My laptop at work is set up to delete from server when deleted

Re-downloading Inbox in POP Email Account

25. April 2014 · Write a comment · Categories: Outlook for Mac · Tags: Outlook, pop account, POP Email Account

For several months Outlook will periodically re-download all the emails in my POP email account Inbox. I like to keep copies of my emails on the server otherwise it wouldn't be a problem. I've seen other posts asking if it started when I upgraded to Mavericks but I can't remember exactly when it started although it may have been in early 2012 because I have duplicate emails in my Deleted folder from as far back as March 2012.  It got so bad that I've stopped syncing Outlook with my POP account, added a gmail account to Outlook and setup the POP account to forward all my emails to the gmail account. Although the 14.4.1 patch claims to address this problem I've installed it and nothing changed. I also tried checking the "Prevent Appnap" setting as suggested elsewhere but that didn't help either.

Any other ideas on how to REALLY fix this?  Thanks in advance.

Help with sending email on a MacBook Pro with live.co.uk I can receive but not send

07. March 2014 · Write a comment · Categories: Outlook for Mac · Tags: Macbook pro, pop account

All - I am having trouble with email - a live.co.uk account as a pop account on my MacBook Pro.  Its worked perfectly for 14 months and has suddenly stopped working - either inbound or outbound mail.  I deleted the account and added it again and it is now receiving mail, but not sending.  What do I need to do to resolve?

I'm using incoming - pop3.live.com:995 and outgoing smtp.live.com.25

Are either or both of these incorrect?

Thanks for any advice you can offer!

I cannot seem to get a third email account on outlook 2011

26. December 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Outlook for Mac · Tags: pop account
Hi everyone,

I have currently two email account on outlook 2011 Version 14.3.9.. One IMAP, one exchange, and set up a third one POP for a business I am in the process of developing.. It has never worked. I use Godaddy as my hosting company for both the POP and the IMAP, and although I have checked several times with them all accounts are set up properly..
Somehow the Pop account does not show a dot on the left side of the account name whether it be orange or green in the accounts windown, and the email account does not show up on the left side of my outlook window under inbox..
What am I doing wrong? Is there a limit to the number of accounts I can have in outlook.. This has never worked in the three years I have been trying..
If I go online to sign onto the pop account in question and send myself emails from that account, it works.. If I start a new email and choose that pop account under the "from" section which shows as an option, it will send the email and that email will arrive to its destination...

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,

Archeossian

Mac Office 2011 Outlook Does not allow me to add pop account

25. December 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Outlook for Mac · Tags: IMAP, pop account
Hi!

I installed mac office 2011 few days ago, and i decided to start using outlook. I tried to add pop account, but it displays as imap for some reason. When i read the instruction, the instruction clearly says that hotmail should be POP account. It still allowed me to log in, but the problem is that the outlook continuously ask me to re-enter the hotmail password every 10 - 15 mins saying something is wrong, error has occurred, or has been crashed, etc. Furthermore, i even reseted accounts by deleting the account from outlook and re-logging into outlook, but it still displays as imap. Is it because i tried to have two account? i first logged in as gmail (imap) in the beginning of the program and added another account hotmail (should be pop [problem]) later on.

Please help me!

Cannot connect POP account to server

16. December 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Outlook for Mac · Tags: pop account
With the help of my ISP I have just changed from an iMAP to a POP account. The problem is I cannot get Outlook to connect properly to the server. Test messages sent to my e-mail address get to the server OK, and reply OK from the server to the original sender. But when I try to connect, I get messages which flash up at the bottom of the page: Securely Connecting to POP...Getting list of email messages  And then drops out.
Checked and double-checked the name and password in Tools>Accounts, also in Outlook>Preferences>Accounts.
Using the same name and password I can get into my ISP mailbox by using Safari - all the new messages are there and I can send from the server, but why can't Outlook connect?

Outlook Mac .eml and .mbox don’t retain attachments

06. December 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Outlook for Mac · Tags: attachments, IMAP account, pop account, server folders
I've switched someone to an IMAP account from pop after they started using another Mac. Outlook Mac 2011 on this older mac has been having problems opening occasionally and freezing on the "Identity.." while opening. The OS has issues itself and I've done all the typical maintenance efforts. I've managed to get it open sometimes by starting in safe boot and run DB repair utility so it's not totally corrupted. The identity file is 40 GB so problems are inevitable.
Since exporting the olm froze Outlook I resorted to creating an IMAP account and copying folders from the POP account into it. Recently alot of the emails disappeared from the server folders so I went back and repeated that process. I also copied each folder to a desktop folder making .mbox files of them as a backup. Upon importing these folders I noticed .mbox files don't retain subfolder emails and also lose attachments in the emails it does keep.
This causes a problem since some of the folders are no longer in the pop account to drag and drop to the IMAP. Yes I had to delete some regrettably due to the enormous amount of folders. No point in importing .mbox and .eml since they don't keep attachments.
I'm currently trying to export the OLM again from a backed up pop copy but don't have my hopes up. Just looking for advice on how to get these pop folders, sub-folders and emails back into the imap account with the attachments and email body in original condition. mbox and .eml have been useless.

Thanks

POP account does not show up as separate folder in unified Inbox

28. November 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Outlook for Mac · Tags: pop account, unified inbox
I have a couple of IMAP accounts in Outlook for Mac and they show up as separate folders in the unified Inbox - just as it should be. Now I added a POP account - and it does not show up as separate folder in the unified inbox. The emails are only visible when I click onto the Inbox folder icon as such, mixed up with all the other emails from all the other accounts.

Is this normal in Outlook for Mac or can there anything be done to fix this? (I'd like to add that when I do the same in Mail for OS X - adding a POP account to existing IMAP accounts - this POP account does get a separate folder in the unified inbox.
