Problem with background sync on Outlook 2011

We have had 2 macs in the last week keep trying to sync hundreds or thousands of deleted messages in the trash folder to our hosted exchange server

When this starts, we can see our outbound network traffic spike dramatically and it is affecting network performance.
The synchronization will start, and no progress will be made, then it will timeout. 
A few moments later it will retry and spike the network again.

Any suggestion what to do here? 

This is happening on more than one computer now

I would like to know how to monitor network traffic between SkyDrive Pro and Server.  Which tool is best to watch the traffic.

 

I was trying to understand the SkyDrive pro sync works as its really causing huge traffic so when I was checking the same using fiddler I have observed that updated data/content in ".DOCX" was it in different formats( bytes). I understand Microsoft adds some additional unreadable bytes for security purpose but what I wondering was , the format got changed based on the browser type, same word document was converted into added some raw additional bytes differently , so my query is how to understand this for me to apply any additional encryption techniques if I want to encrypt doc using client side ciphering techniques. so please share any idea how SkyDrive pro works ( I mean how it sends POST REQUEST PARAMETERS ) what are the different types of PRPs( Post Request Parameters) pls share if you have any idea that will be really a great help.
