I've 2 microsoft accounts:
- *** Email address is removed for privacy *** - it's 25 GB Skydrive, it's connect to my Windows Phone 8 and has purchase history, settings to my Windows 8; generally it's set everything what's important in Microsoft Account, it's my primary account
- *** Email address is removed for privacy *** - I make it, because I want a official mail (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***)

Now I want merge this account. I want to use *** Email address is removed for privacy *** for login to WP, W8, Outlook.com, Skydrive.com, but I want to keep my 25 GB Skydrive, my purchase history and connected accounts (FB, twitter etc) in Windows Phone, my settings in W8, but I want a official email adress to. No alias, no link account, I want to have one account only. I don't need 2 account or 3, like in Google. I prefer one, from Microsoft, and every other account (Google) will be deleted. How can I do it? A woman from Microsoft Tech Support in my country can't tell me anything that it's possible or not.

PS. Sorry for my English, it isn't perfect.

Dear Microsoft Tech Customer Service;

Please advise how to recover my HOtmail Plus Acct (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***) ASAP that was deactivated by Microsoft Billing.  BOOM!  NO access to to the pop3,live.com server for either my personal email or motel busioness email without any Notification, forewarning or email inquiry when the acct's auto-billing failed.

Fortunately, I found a phone no for Microsoft Billing, whom I called to investigate. After an hour or so with a very patient & professional Customer Service Person, I was apprised that my old account (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***) had been REACTIVATED.  BUT despite several attempts with assistance from the Customer Service Person, we could not access / recover  the account or its email!  AND Microsoft doesn't provide a phone hotline to asist with account recovery or technical assitance.

Instead, I was instructed to set up an entirely new account & password, solely so I could login to this Microsoft Forum to transmit my plea for Microsoft for assistance via this platform, then wait for a reply within the next 24 hrs!

Well guys, I hope to hear from you ASAP instead of in 24 hrs, since my motel business email has ALREADY been DOA for ~24 hours while investigating this hasty deactivation.

PLease advise Recovery Instruction ASAP.

Thank you

Scott Hathorn

P.S.  Microsoft used to have a Tech Support Hotline.  What happened to that?

Hi,

I've just started using Outlook 2013 to replace Windows live Mail as my mail client.  I have 3 outlook.com accounts, and I have set them all up in Outlook 2013.  Two of them work fine, but one of them (my primary one) doesn't.

I've previously tried posting in the Outlook support forums, and I received advice from a Microsoft support engineer to post here and see if I can have the outlook.com account in question "reset" (or if there is any other advice someone can provide).

The previous thread contains all the technical details, but in brief I've tried and/or noticed the following things;

  • No emails are ever downloaded for the account - upon starting outlook 2013, the account connects and then immediately disconnects and stays that way forever.
  • Forcing a reconnection via connection status (by right-clicking the outlook icon in the system tray) shows the same behaviour - connects and then immediately disconnects.
  • Folders inside the account are synced (i.e. folders are displayed in outlook 2013, and if I rename folders that is reflected in the client)
  • I can send emails from the broken account without any problems.
  • I've tried removing and re-adding the account without success.
  • I've tried creating a new outlook profile and configuring the broken account within it without success.
  • I've tried deleting the OST files for the account, as well as the contents of eascache and roamcache (within appdata\local\Microsoft\outlook) without success.
  • I enabled troubleshooting logging and noticed the following error message in the easlogs folder.  This message was logged once for each folder in my mailbox, every time I forced a connection by opening outlook or via the connection status window;

<?xml version="1.0"?>
< Error>

<Hr>80004005</Hr>

<Message>Transient server error detected</Message>

<Line>445</Line>

</Error>

Thanks!

I have a Hotmail account I have been using for several years.

Today when I successfully logged in it wanted me to verify my secondary email in case I forgot my password. The only secondary email I had is my closed Cox.net email address. When I said I did not have an alternative address, it wanted me to provide my phone number to change it. It also gave me several days to provide it or else I guess they will close my account.

Well, NO Microsoft! I am not going to provide any more personal information except a new alternative email which you should allow me to do directly from within my Outlook email. I am especially not going to provide that information over the Internet - PERIOD!

My additional personal details, address, phone or other contact information is no one's business, not Hackers, not Spammers, not any Government, domestic or foreign, and not Microsoft because someone there could not think of a more intelligent, user friendly method to update an alternative email.

Does the Community agree or disagree with Microsoft's policies? Should someone with a several year old Hotmail account lose their account if they don't give up additional private information?

It should be noted that this board DOES HAVE my new alternative address so I receive notifications from this board.

I have read all of the posts and have been unable to unlock my account.  I have been locked out for almost a month now trying to work with Microsoft to get it unlocked.  Hoping someone here can help me.  I am going to post all of the steps I have gone though.

I went to this site 3 times and filled out the form and submitted: https://account.live.com/acsr. I get an email that says "We've received the recovery request for your Microsoft account ********** (email removed). Your issue number is: 95631223 What's next? We'll review the answers you submitted and send you an update soon. Please note that it can take up to 24 hours for us to get back to you. The only correspondence I got was a feedback request...bad feedback so far obviously.

I filled account verification form out and got the following response, General Issue 08/09/2013 10:05 Subject: 1213422699 From: Escalation Agent Hi, We found out that your account is associated to a Xbox Live subscription. We strongly suggest that you contact our Xbox Support for their account validation process and once you pass, they also have the tools to provide you with a password that you can use to gain access to your account. You can use the contact numbers and a link below on how you can reach their support team. Xbox - Customer Service Information - 425-635-7180 (800) 4MY-XBOX or (800) 469-9269 Xbox Customer Support http://support.xbox.com/ Thanks! Paolo P. The support number for this request was SRX1213422699ID. So, I called Xbox live and they told me to let you know that my account is active and I can access it with no troubles, rather it is LOCKED by Microsoft and they cannot unlock it. They can only help with password/account recovery. Since I can log into my account and it tells me that it appears to have been compromised and is locked, I must go through you to UNLOCK it.

I have gone to the site mail.live.com 3 different times and have reset my password.  I can get in with the new password, but it tells me "It looks like someone else might be using your account. To help you—and only you—get back into ******** (email removed), we need to verify that it's yours"  I then have 2 choices: send me a code via text message or email.  If I choose text message the phone number is blocked, but the last 4 are my number.  I never get a text (I have done this 5-6 times).  If I choose send me a code via email, I get the following error message "There's a temporary problem with the service. Please try again. If you continue to get this message, try again later."  I have been getting this error message the entire time I have been trying to get back into my account.  I have tried the page using Firefox and Internet Explorer, same error with both.

My latest response from Microsoft was "

Hi,
Welcome to the Microsoft Community.
After reviewing the information you provided and looking at your account details, I’ve determined that you need to reset your password to recover
your account. To do this kindly go to (https://account.live.com/password/reset) . If your not able to reset your password kindly follow the steps below for the validation procedure, you will be prompted to provide an active
alternate email where the password reset link will be sent once you passed the validation (Step#6) 1. Select "I think someone else is using my Microsoft account". Or “I forgot my password” (Select which is applicable). 2. Click "Reset your password". 3. Enter your Microsoft account (The account affected by the issue) and type in the characters you'll see in the pictures 4. Hit Next. 5. Click "I can’t use any of these options". 6. Enter a working email address (Alternate e-mail address) where we can contact you. 7. Click “Next”. 8. Fill-up the form and click “Submit”. Please read this help article “My Outlook.com account has been hacked” at http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/outlook/hacked-account
and follow the steps to scan your computer using antivirus software. Get back to us with any results. Thanks."

Clearly I am back in the same circle again as I have reset my password 3 times with no authentication confirmed and I have filled out the Step #6
form 3 different times and I never get a response back after the initial email that says I will hear back in 24 hours. All 3 times have been over
4 weeks total and I have not heard back.

I have done ALL of the steps they have asked. I tried chat today and they wanted me to do all the same steps again and even disconnected me as I was trying to ask another question.  . Please help me unlock my account as I have done all of the verification steps that they have asked so far.  I'm so sick or trying to get the account verified.
