I understand if Microsoft wants to switch names, images, websites, branding and procedures. I understand if they want to take all their customers with them, and I understand that not everyone will be happy.

What the website looks like doesn't concern me, and the fact that it's difficult to navigate also doesn't truly concern me.

What concerns me is this:

All previous emails from my hotmail account have disappeared without a trace.
No new emails have arrived.

While my inbox will never be cleaner, an email service that neither sends nor receives email is pretty worthless.

Looking at the other questions here, it seems that the change was enacted months ago, and yet Microsoft still hasn't gotten around to transferring all the old email information.

Call me crazy, but it seems to me that something is broken here. Like "Windows 8 style" broken (sorry, that was low).

I'm going to give Outlook one more week, and after that they lose me.
I have been using two hotmail account, and now i want to delete one of the account due to some privacy concern.
My Question is :-

Does Microsoft assign my User Id to other person once i delete the account ? If yes, (then three question follows)
|1|. What is duration of recovering my account before Microsoft assigns my id to other ?
|2|. If my Use Id is taken by the some other person(who is no my alias and he  pretends to be me) and if sends abusing mails pretending to  be me to others, then what do i do ?

|3|. Is there is any option so that Microsoft can never assign that User Id to others once i delete my Account ?
Hi.  I'm a Linux user who wants to use outlook.com.  Works just fine in Chromium.  Sorry, Microsoft -- <grin>.

Here's my question.  I have e-mail stored in my gmail account that is labeled -- that is, they're subfolders of my mail gmail storage.  I also have these e-mails stored in both Evolution and Thunderbird.  I want to import these to outlook.com, and cannot figure out how to do it.

I'm a book review editor, and I have a folder called "Book Reviews" where I store all of my email related to book reviewing.  I need to create a Book Reviews folder in outlook.com and import all of those mails.  Since outlook.com does not support linking to Gmail through IMAP (yuck!), I'm forced to find another way to do this.

So, I guess two related questions:

1.  How do I get this done?

2.  Alternately, is IMAP support coming for outlook.com?  This, of course, would be the ideal solution.

Thanks.
We have a new computer that has Microsoft 7 as well as functions of 8.  The computer is an HP 500. I need to set up an interactive calendar that I will maintain but has appointment spaces for several employees and has the option to invite office personnel to make additions or send me emails to make changes.  It has been several years since I have used Outlook so I am not real familiar with the new Outlook.  Is there a tutorial that I can use to educate myself on its operation?
I tried to sign in and it came up saying it will send me a link to the email address that I can't access!
Then I contacted Microsoft who gave me a link where i had to fill out a question air to confirm it was me.
After filling this out and sending it I realised I typed my newly created email address incorectly. So when i tried again to send it with the correct spelled email address it came up saying it's received too many requests for that account
So i contacted Microsoft again who said they couldn't help me directly.. and told me to post on here..

Please help with what i can do next, if i cant access my account could i divert all my emails to my new address instead?
Hi All,

I have found that Microsoft hotmail have deleted my emails and due to their actions I can not get my emails back as they do not have any backup strategy for customers data.  This is even more frustrating when the support staff send canned responses to clear cut information asking for more information prolonging the support process and frustrating the customer.  As they deleted the emails from folders that have no recovery I find it amazing they are getting away with this with people's accounts when other providers would be roasted in the media over this sort of action.  I would really like to get my emails back and I have no trust that my emails are safe in the hands of the admins that look after the hotmail platform anymore shame considering for many many years they have had a stable reliable platform and now it's gone to the dogs.

Very very frustrated
Andrew
