New SkyDrive.com shows Incorrect Result when clicking on Folder in the Search Result List

31. July 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: Incorrect Result, microsoft, Microsoft account

Hello. I notice that SkyDrive.com has been upgraded as per Microsoft's announcement. However, when I search a folder on my Microsoft account, then click on a folder in that result, the screen shows like when I click in a picture file to see it in high resolution (Download the screenshot from this link). The only way that I can do is to go back to previous page by clicking "Back" button on a browser.

Note that I use Internet Explorer 10 on Windows 8 RTM.

Can’t Activate new microsoft account

31. July 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: account details, Microsoft account

Hi,

I've created a new Microsoft account however, I never receive the activation email and when I try to resend now I get varying messages along the lines of "We were unable to send you an email. Try again later."

I've tried to follow some of the directions in response on here but nothings worked, could you get in contact so I can provide the account details for this new account.

I've been through the password reset step which worked and sent the reset email to an alternate email address, but when I logged in after resetting the email I was again asked to wait for a verification email in my inbox.

Help??!!

Reopen an accidentally closed microsoft account

31. July 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: Microsoft account

Hi,

I would like to reopen my Microsoft account. I have accidentally closed my Microsoft account. I would like to re-open that closed account.

How can I reopen my account? Which person do I need to inform? The account that I want to reopen is *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

Thanks for your time and answer!

Fangru

Regular microsoft account allows logging-in as administrator; yet, when trying to switch to my alias (standard) account, error message appears stating that Windows “cannot recognize password.” WHY?

31. July 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: administrator, administrator account, Microsoft account, Regular microsoft account
Okay, so first of all, I use Windows 8 Pro 64-bit. I always log into my main administrator account with my microsoft.com email address (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***) and have been doing so for several months. However, I am running into problems with all sorts of things including a very intermittent and unreliable HomeGroup functionality, the (sometimes) duplication of my user account (in other words, my admin account VAIO64 will show up twice: VAIO64 VAIO64(1) - as though I created two accounts! WHICH CHAPS MY ****!) and the enivatble AND EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING notifications and inability to open some programs, share folders, and other redundant BS (e.g., having to run EVERY program and process as an administrator, even though, I am listed as the administrator, this is my computer, and no one else has ever even touched it, yet alone, given themselves administrator access over me! That and the fact that no other users are shown under User Accounts, except for that of my own ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT!) Therefore, here the other day, I said screw it and decided to set up a new account as a Standard User (being, Microsoft "recommends" it). So I thought hey, what the ****. Anyhow, Well, of course in order to keep things in sync (being that I have 3 other computers, and utilize a lot of Microsoft apps, including everything from Skydrive and Office, to Visio and DreamSpark) I knew that I needed to use another Microsoft account. And from what I read, the "best way" to keep things in sync is to create an alias, which I did (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***). And yet, while I can receive mail at that address, open up every microsoft webpage, account and application with it as well; yet, when it comes to simply signing in using that extra/spare account in Windows, I get an error telling me my password doesn't match. But fortunately, I also get a "kind" message letting me know, that all I have to do is simply go to www.account.live.com/password/reset and then come back and log in. Well guess what? THAT DOESN'T WORK! So, I am able to reset it and peruse all the sites like always, but somehow, it doesn't do a single thing about the password problem I have now spent 2 days straight trying to fix!? C'mon Microsoft!! What a joke! PLEASE, SOMEONE HELP ME OUT HERE.

Multiple Accounts on my Microsoft Account

When I access my Microsoft Account at the http://commerce.microsoft.com/ web site I see a drop down at the top, as shown in this screenshot:

Why do I have a "CA - Personal Account", a "CA - Business Account 1", a "CA - Business Account 2", and a "US - Personal Account"?

I recently had two XBOX Avatar Items disappear from my account - they were withdrawn from the store - and I contacted XBOX Support.  I had the items credited to my account and they, plus a recent avatar purchase, appear under the "US - Personal Account".  Shortly after this, as documented in another thread, my Windows Phone 8 Wallet became corrupted:

I have two payment options on my account, a Visa and my PayPal.  Rogers is the name of my cell carrier in Canada, and should not be there.

What has happened?  Why do I have so many "accounts" under my Microsoft Account?

You need to cancel any paid services or Microsoft Points account associated with your Microsoft account. – Try #2

Hello,

This is my second attempt at closing an account. Please reference previous post here.

Despite being told my issue has been resolved, it has not. I still cannot close my account.
For proof, please see the following photos:

Password Recovery Process not working

30. July 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: Microsoft account, password reset
I am trying to help a customer recover his Microsoft Account.  Apparently someone hacked into it and changed the password.  We have tried the password recovery process multiple times and it simply does not work.

We go to the password reset link and enter the Microsoft Account that is locked out and the captcha word.  It reveals a page to "Reset Your Password" and options to "Email me a reset link" and "I can't use any of these options".

The former reveals two other email addresses to send the password link.  We choose "Next" and it says "We've sent a password reset link to these email addresses."   NO PASSWORD RESET LINK IS EVER RECEIVED..  We've tried this a hundred times..  The 2ndary email addresses are correct.  Microsoft simply is NOT sending the reset link emails..  Doesn't work for text messages either.

The 2nd option requires us to enter the user's personal information, name, birthdate, other personal questions.. The response is that someone will review the request and get back to the customer in 24 hours..  It's been 24 hours already.  NOTHING EVER HAPPENS HERE either..

So is this how Microsoft "helps" it's customers?   IF we don't hear from anyone at Microsoft who can HELP with this problem and we end up not being able to get into this account, we will abandon Microsoft services and go to Google.. This means all consideration of Office 365 subscription for business and Google Apps will get this customer's business.

This is the most ridiculous excuse of support and service I've ever encountered..  It is no wonder that Microsoft has such poor reputation these days.   I will stop recommending Microsoft services until there is a better and more reliable recovery method established.

confusion with microsoft accounts

30. July 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: banking information, Microsoft account
Due to a misunderstanding I have to accounts; live ID with outlook that contains my contact information and a microsoft account that has the cloud info and an attempt for banking (apps etc). The two accounts seem to confuse each other. Is it possible to syncronize them or to tranfer the contact information from the live account to the microsoft account?

Also I was never able to get my banking information to work on my phone or computer for purchasing apps etc. I have been suggested that the problem may lie with the country name. My account is in Luxembourg, where I work and luxembourg is not listed as a country for the banking.

Or is the problem based on the confusion of the accounts. I have visited computer stores in Luxembourg and Finland and no one has been able to resove the problem to me yet. Please help if you have an idea.

Thank you
