Hi,
Why can't I use a hotmail.com address when creating/signing up for a Microsoft account?
The system just tells me to use an alias. Why is that?
Using a gmail.com address works fine though...
(I am using the hotmail address in Outlook.com without any problems.)
I am running Win 8 x64.

I have just purchased new computer and set up new Microsoft Account.
When I try to log in, it keeps saying account does not exist. I have since set up another account up, which is working ok, but computer keeps prompting log in details for original account. Can any one help please?
I keep getting this error message. I dont even know what a microsoft 365 account is and I dont remember signing up for anything...
"You're currently signed in with an Office 365 email account, which can't be used with Outlook.com. Please click here to sign out of your Office 365 account, then use another Microsoft account to sign in to Outlook.com (for example, your hotmail.com, live.com, or msn.com account). "
I have tried clicking the link to sign out of said account, and tried then logging in on hotmail and I still can't sign in.
Any suggestions?
