Im trying to access my account on xbox but it is telling me to sign in through my microsoft account. I do that and then it tells me there is something wrong with my microsoft accoung and I go to the suggested site. From there it tells me that to ensure that i am the one and only person accessing my microsoft account they will send a security code to the linked email address. the problem is that email hasnt been used for so long that it has been deleted and i dont have access to it so im stuck.

Microsoft account hacked…

17. August 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: account recovery, microsoft, Microsoft account
Hello.

My Hotmail account, cornucopiaoflovee@hotmail.com, has been hacked.

I have contacted the Microsoft team 7 times (spoke roughly 30 min each time), to no avail. I ended up being brought here by Geraldine from the Online Safety Team.

I have tried account recovery and they have changed the email that I had as a recovery email. I went to  (https://account.live.com/password/reset) to do the validation process. So, I tried to get back into it by filling out the form for an alternate e-mail (entering previous passwords, folders, recent sent message titles and recipients, etc. for the account that has been hacked). I have done this over 7 times. Each time, I get either no reply from Microsoft or it says I don't have enough information. It is connected to my Xbox Live account, which may have access to my credit card (I can't remember) so I need it back as soon as possible. (my gamer tag is Unamoosed).

At this point, I don't even care who hacked my account - I just need access to it so I can change the Microsoft account affiliated with my Xbox Live one.

I have information tied to the account to prove it is mine, such as contacts, recently sent e-mails, answers to security questions, and my phone number. I also have my Xbox's serial numbers and such.

I am losing days that I have paid for on Live, so I am also requesting a reimbursement for the days lost. I also can't access any of my saved games. I have literally done everything to try and get my account back, but no one seems to know what they are doing at Microsoft. So. I have been waiting since Tuesday to get back into my account.

I have given Microsoft over $300, and this is what I get. Thanks.

I am extremely aggravated with all of Microsoft right now, so if you can assist me you will have my everlasting gratitude.

If you tell me to "Please refer to the steps provided on Account Recovery Process," I will probably sigh deeply and wonder what you think that will do for me if I have tried it OVER SEVEN TIMES. THIS DOESN'T HELP ME.

Thank you for your time,

Hannah T.

New Windows 8 notebook, signed in with Microsoft account but emails not syncing however emails sync with added accounts

Hi,

I recently purchased the ASUS K55a laptop and I signed in with an Hotmail account as a Microsoft account however in the Mail app the email I used to sign in with does not sync. A message at the top right hand corner comes up as "*** Email address is removed for privacy *** is unavailable". I added two other Hotmail accounts and they both have synced perfectly with emails showing up and everything but the 'admin' account is not syncing. I have tried to solve this for hours but to no avail.

I appreciate any response to this, thank you.

Jamie

Outlook.com mail not syncing with Nokia920, Windows8 tablet & Windows8 PC

17. August 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: Microsoft account, sync

Windows8 & WindowsPhone8 has resulted in a problem with my ******@msn.com account that I have been using since 1995.

Tablet & PC:

Outlook.com will sync the Mail, Calendar & Contacts upon initial setup/install or reset. After that outlook.com will NOT sync the Mail. It will however, sync the Calendar & Contacts.

This has been the case since the launch of Windows8. Mail did sync in the Windows8 Developer Preview my Asus EP121.

Nokia920:

Outlook.com has synced flawlessly since the launch of the Nokia920.

On the morning of Friday August 9th something happened. I notice the phone was hot and the battery was almost dead after an hour. Under Settings/email+accounts, the Microsoft account ******@msn.com was continuously syncing. This drained the battery. Upon plugging in the charger, the red battery alert displayed and continued to display till Saturday night. Outlook.com's syncing drained the battery as fast as it could charge. The phone was unusable Friday and Saturday. I did a soft reset to no avail. I then did a hard reset. The spinning cogs spun all Saturday evening and night till Sunday morning. Once I signed into Microsoft account ******@msn.com it started to sync. Only the Calendar and Contacts were successful. Mail tries but will not sync.

I have now spent uncountable hours trying to find a fix. I went to the Microsoft Store in Toronto and basically was told that I am SOL.

Is it something unique to my ******@msn.com account? I removed my sim card and installed my wife's sim from her iPhone. I did a hard reset (Settings/about/reset your phone) and same thing, Mail will not sync. My wife has a ******@Hotmail.com account.

I then opened a new Microsoft account ******@live.com. I did a hard reset (Settings/about/reset your phone) and signed in under my new ******@live.com Microsoft account. I then added my ******@msn.com email account. I tried in both the 'Outlook' and the 'Hotmail'. Only Contacts and Calendar are successful. I have tried numerous other ways and configurations to no avail.

Is there any way that someone at MS can look at my ******@msn.com account? Maybe there is a problem with @msn.com regarding it's mail server or router or cables or software or settings at your end.

It is such a shame. The Windows8 eco-system is by far the finest. I have convinced so many companies, friends and relatives to adopt. Without exception, everyone that I have demonstrated the window8 eco-system to ask, 'why doesn't anyone know about it?'.

Cannot sign up or sign in, very disappointed!!!!

I cannot login because account doesn't exist ''That Microsoft account doesn't exist. Enter a different email address or get a new account.''
but at the same time I cannot create a new account with the same name because ''This email address is part of a reserved domain such as live.com, hotmail.com, or msn.com. Please enter a different email address.''

so? does it exist anymore or not?????????????????????

the account name is *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

I think it wasn't a great idea changing everything to outlook.com, I see only unsatisfied customers, right like me!!!
Please fix it ASAP because I have very important stuff in that mailbox!!!!!

Can’t add contacts to the “people hub” while logged in as a Child Account

17. August 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: child account, Microsoft account
I have my son setup as a child account under my Microsoft account. He uses it to log into to our Xbox, and our Surface. He just got a new Windows Phone 8, and I used his MS child account to setup his phone. Everything mostly works as expect so far - a few more hoops to jump through compared to setting up and using my Windows phone using my parent MS account. The problem is this. On the PC, when he logs into Outlook.com and then goes to the People Hub, he is unable to add, or edit any contacts. In fact, the only way he is able to add a contact is by typing them into the phone...once done, those contacts will appear on the PC within Outlook.com's People Hub. This is just **** backwards. Obviously, adding loads of contacts on the phone is less desirable than on a PC. How do I get around this so we can add contacts using a real PC instead of the phone.

Microsoft Accoun Set Up Errors

17. August 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: Microsoft Accoun, Microsoft account

In setting up windows 8 I tried to create a Microsoft Account under my gmail account.  Somehow I made a mistake.

  1. Now if I try to log in I'm told my password is incorrect.
  2. I try to reset the password and I'm told the account doesn't exist.
  3. I try to send a single access code  message to my cell phone and my cell phone number is recognized.  However, no access number is ever sent.
  4. I created a companion account under outlook.com and tried to add my gmail as an alias.  That action tells me the name already exists.

Is there a way to straighten this out?  my gmail account is my preferred primary e-mail address and my user login for Windows 8 on my new laptop.  Any help you can offer would be extremely welcome.  Please let me know who to contact or what to do.  Thank You

Error 450 – creating Microsoft account

16. August 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: Microsoft account, private College

Hi

I'm the IT coordinator in a private College and we need our IP address unblock so our students can create their Microsoft account in the next week.

Starting Sunday, August 18 'till Saturday August 31st, around 145 students, every day, will need to create their Microsoft Account.

Anyway to unlock our IP address for 30 days with unlimited creating rights.

Thanks

Daniel R
