unable to verify my sons xbox account as it says my data is missing or incorrect?

22. December 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: livemail · Tags: Microsoft account, Xbox
Good Morning,
Im having a problem verifying my sons account for his xbox. When his profile logs on to Live, it asks for a parent to log in and verify him. I do so and it then asks for him to go to Xbox.com and sign in there (CODE: 83118853). We have come in and logged on through the PC where it again asks that a parent logs in to verify him, I have done so again, arrrived at the microsoft account child consent screen, let your child use a microsoft account? this screen is just detailing that a 50cent fee will be taken to verify. I click Yes to continue the process and it comes up, "we are unable to sign you in, Your account is missing a full name or date of birth. Visit account.live.com to update the required information, then try again" I have logged into my own account and checked all of my details, everything is correct and upto date, I have checked that my card is current to take the payment. I have had a xbox account myself for 8 years. I have chatted to a representative on the chat help and was asked to re enter my name and DOB, still comes up with the same issues? they recommended I post a question here.
Thanks for any help, Neil.

Please help!! This is driving me nuts!!  for months i have been trying to access my sons microsoft account to make some changes, but everytime i try to login its asks me as the p[arent to login and allow him permission to use the account (which has been set up for years a running fine) when i do login and click yes tp allow permission i keep getting error messages - the latest of which is we do not have your full name and date of birth - both of which they clearly do.   I desperatley need to resolve this now as my son as of this morning cannot even logon to his xbox profile because of the same problem.  Christmas is coming and he wants to play his games.  I have spent counless house chatting online to microsoft themsleves and on the phone and am starting to get really annoyed with the lack of sucessful suggestions.

heres hoping that someone out there has experienced the same problem and manged to resolve it as i fear that there will be no joy from microsoft.

Using existing Microsoft account for Windows Live Domain e-mail account

11. December 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Uncategorized · Tags: account name, example domain, Microsoft account

Hi,

I currently host my own e-mail domain (@example.com) and was considering moving it to Windows Live Domain.  I have an existing Microsoft account using an email address with the existing domain (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***).  If I moved the @example domain to Windows Live Domain and wanted to create a mailbox *** Email address is removed for privacy *** how do I go about it?  Do I just add an account name *** Email address is removed for privacy *** in my Windows Live Domain control panel?  Will the existing *** Email address is removed for privacy *** Microsoft account still retain all its associated information, such as Skype contacts, Windows Phone purchases and Xbox live purchases?

Mail Account Address Swiching

08. December 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: livemail · Tags: Gmail, Microsoft account
I have 2 accounts on my computer and I want to get rid of one of them. They both have different mail addresses, one is Live and the other (that I want to keep) is Gmail. I was trying to get rid of the Live one thinking it would completely take off the same account that I have to log into it before I can get into my computer and I could just use my Gmail mail address for my account log in. So I logged into the Microsoft account website with the Live mail address and tried switching the address to my Gmail one. Of course it said I already had an account with this email, so I logged into the Microsoft website as I did before but with the Gmail account and completely removed/deleted/eased/I don't know the term it used/got rid of it still thinking it would get rid of the signing in Gmail mail account too, but it didn't. I would have removed/deleted/erased/I don't know the term it used/got rid of the Live account but I had purchased the word/PowerPoint thing on the Live account and I didn't want to by it again. So I logged on the Microsoft account website with the Live account and tried adding then changing the Gmail mail address to my primary address then deleting the Live address but it said the Gmail account could not be used. Is there a solution to this or am I just stuck with my Live address and account?

Office 365 and Windows Live account clash stopping log in

03. December 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Uncategorized · Tags: Microsoft account, windows live account

Hello,

before the moderator directs me to another similar question, please don't--I've read everything I can see on here and nothing has worked. I've also tried contacting support, and keep getting pushed from support department to support department. I hope someone can help.

I have a Windows Live account - my old Hotmail account. I have an Office 365 account. The email address for my O365 account is setup as an alias for my Windows Live account, and so I logon to both systems using the same email address with different passwords.

All of a sudden (apropos of nothing) my Windows Live login has stopped working. I receive the following error message

You're currently signed in with a Microsoft account as *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, but that account can't be used with Outlook Web App. Please sign out of your Microsoft account, then sign in to Outlook Web App with the account you use to read your organization's email. Click here to sign out. Learn more

I have tried reading widely, logging off everywhere, clearing caches, using InPrivate tabs, different computers ... *everything* ... but still get the same message everytime I try. I can logon to mail.office365.com and those other Office-related services using the Office 365 account details, but that doesn't help me. I have a calendar published to my Windows Live account from Outlook at work, and the inability to logon has stopped that calendar updating ... which is screwing my calendar across all of my devices (including Surface Pro 2 which is otherwise great).

Please help someone...

Microsoft account Login Issues

03. December 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: livemail · Tags: microsoft, Microsoft account, Skype Desktop
I'm have been having this issue with my Microsoft account for several weeks now.

It appears that the system thinks I have tried to log in too many times with an incorrect password.

What this means is:

Every time I log into Skype Desktop, I have to re-enter my password with a CAPTCHA

Every time I log into Skydrive via any Office app I have to re-enter my password with a CAPTCHA

The system will not allow me to change my password.

The only way I can change my password is to Reset it (https://account.live.com/ResetPassword.aspx).

I CAN NOT LOG INTO MY ACCOUNT ON MY XBOX AT ALL.

I have searched high and low for resolution to this issue to no avail.

In attempt to resolve this(some of this at the advisement of Xbox support), I have :

Reset my password

Reset or changed all my security proofs (https://account.live.com/proofs/Manage)

I have gone to every device I own that logs in with my Microsoft account including:

  • My main machine at home
  • Our kitchen/kids homework computer
  • My Surface
  • My WP8 phone

and made sure I can log in with my new password.

Every device will let me log in except my Xbox 360.

Some services require the CAPTCHA

I am software engineer and yet completely lost on this issue.

The issues I'm having are related to my Microsoft account and not any 1 device, yet there seems to be no support for it.

Any help is much appreciated. Gabe (the support guy at Xbox) has been very patient and helpful. He has even called me back to try to get this issue resolved and he is also baffled.

P.S.

I wonder, if you knew someone's email, could you just attempt to log in with their email a whole bunch of times intentionally with the wrong password, could you effectively block them from using their Xbox console?
