I'm trying to get an outlook program running and I use Hotmail as my email address.I just need to find the information about what hotmail.co.uk POP3 and SMTP severs are for Hotmail. To get it started but I don't know where to find them.Does anyone know what they are?
I understand why a well established service such as Microsoft's Hotmail (or Outlook) would prevent passwords that are too short, but why limiting password length on the opposite side?

I am switching management of my passwords to a password manager that I set up to generate random passwords 18 characters long with all the possible special symbols. As an example:

That is a good process, because by changing your old passwords you learn about all the security holes in your previously used services.

So when I was changing my Hotmail account password I got this message:

Your password can't be longer than 16 characters.

What a dumb statement! Are they using something like DES encryption or a similar broken block cipher? Can someone explain this limitation to me?
I am subscribed to a few mailing lists through an organization that uses Constant Contact to send mass emails. For the last year, I have not received any of them. The organization has checked their records to ensure that they have the correct email address. I have checked my junk folder, and the messages are never there. I have also checked my blocked sender list and added addresses to the safe sender list, to no avail. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me resolve this issue.
Hi,

My outlook has removed all my old emails when it upgraded from hotmail around February this year. I do have any emails previous to February 2013 in my Inbox which is very frustrating. I have gift certificates and other important emails I need to access, please can you restore all my old emails from hotmail asap!

Thanks

Jack
We are a retail company, and hotmail and Live addresses do not deliver order confirmations to our customers that use Hotmail or Live addresses.  they are delivered to Outlook.com addresses though.  We do not get a rejection, NDR, bounce or anything else, the message just seems to disappear.  Any suggestions?
Hello there,

I'm hoping that someone on here will be able to help as this is driving me Bananas!!!!!!!!!

I have just got a Samsung Galaxy S4 and want to use the stock email app (one that is pre-loaded on the phone) for my Hotmail account. Every time I try to set it up I either get a "cannot connect to the server" or "authentication failed" message. I have tried using the server settings found on every website imaginable for POP3 account, IMAP account and Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, but still no joy. I know there is a app for Hotmail/Outlook but I don't think its very good (like most of the people who have reviewed it on the play store!!) I have set up my other email account (1&1 My Website) but no luck with Hotmail which I find strange with the size of this company!!

Hi There

I wonder someone can help. A friend tryed emailing me today to but instead of emailing my actual address of my.name@hotmail.co.uk (obviously not my actual email address) but instead she emailed my.name@hotmail.com

My actual email account doesn't have a profile photo attached to it. However the .com email account (which isn't my email address, and has NEVER been my email address) has MY photo (which is my facebook profile). Is this some kind of weird system glitch, or is someone using my photo as their profile picture for their email account for some weird reason?!?!?

I wanted to contact outlook support but I can't find an email address for them.

Please help cos it's kind of freaking me out.

Thanks

Megan
Dear Microsoft Community,

I've recently logged back into hotmail to find that all of my emails have been deleted.  This is devastating as hotmail was my first email account, and I had hundreds of priceless correspondence archived neatly therein.  Please, please, please tell me there's a way to retrieve.

Many thanks,
Devin
