Hi Microsoft Community,
I have been using Hotmail email as my only email for the past 18 years and as my business email account. But suddenly, on the 24th Oct 2013, all my inbox and outbox emails were gone. This has disrupted my business as I can't reply my clients' email and refer back my emails to clients. This email inbox contained all the important business records and my personal records for the past 18 years!
Please help to retrieve my inbox emails. I have upgraded to outlook.com long before, my inbox emails just disappeared over night suddenly without any warning or something. Please help to retrieve all my inbox emails which is very important to me. Microsoft please don't let me lost my faith on you.
Changed over from windows 8 to windows 8.1 yesterday. Cannot now get hotmail email on either the desktop or the Surface Pro. Anyone else reporting this problem.
Can you suggest a solution please.

I was using my hotmail email address on my resume for job searching, but have had to switch to a gmail account because I have now had 4 recruiters who have tried to email me and I have not received their emails.
2 of the recruiters are people I was succesfully trading emails with, then a subsequent email they sent was not received. So I received prior emails from them, but not later emails.
The other 2 recruiters, this was the first email they tried to send me, I do not know what their email address is.
I checked my junk folders and there have not been any emails placed here. I confirmed my Reply-to address is set to current address, my junk mail settings are set to Standard, I have no email rules set.
I did add 1 of the recruiters to my safe sender list thinking this was a possible solution but still did not receive the email, but I don't see why I would have to do that as I received an email from her successfully previously, and never placed her on the blocked sender list.
Prior to these recent occurrences, I had stopped receiving emails from my town with automotive renewals notices - when I asked town hall about it they indicated many hotmail users had complained to them the emails were not being received, so this is not a new issue for my email address, but has now become critical as this is affecting my job search!
We have just had notice linking two new new email address to ours.
Our well established email addresses are *** Email address is removed for privacy *** and *** Email address is removed for privacy ***
We also have a registered website using a like name.
Pepperbox Pedigree Persians has been trading since 1990 and the hotmail email address has been in existence for that time with one only minor change prior to 2000.
Someone is attempting to link our email addresses to these addresses pepperbox*@hotmail.com as well as pepperbox*@yahoo.com and this is suspected as a copy-cat address.
This type of copy-cat lookalike address should not be permitted and should be removed.
It is a poor business practice that cannot manage to weed out this type of copying particularly with a wild card symbol being the permitted change.
Outlook and Hotmail need to provide better standards of account management than to permit wildcard additives or duplicate or copycat names to new accounts.
