I recently bought a new Windows phone from T-Mobile, and I was trying to sync all my accounts to my phone. In the process, my Hotmail email account somehow became non-existent. I need help in having my Hotmail email account restored and able to be accessed.

Where did hotmail email address go?

10. August 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: Hotmail Account, Hotmail email
So I tried to use skype yesterday and had to put in a different email address than my old one. I used my new hotmail email address I had been using for months. Then it took me to my email for some reason, so I signed in, and I ended up on the page about aliases. I thought it was telling me to enter a new email address, so I put in my yahoo email address. So now my hotmail account had become my yahoo account? So I deleted the yahoo alias and entered my old email address, *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, as my primary alias the exited. Now it's just gone. My phone can't sign in to my hotmail email, and it tells me my email address doesn't exsist anymore. This whole alias thing is stupid.

If I could get in contact with some microsoft support I'm sure my problem would be easy to fix by just giving them my old email address and password, but theres no more support for hotmail users so I had to post here. The hotmail email address is very important to me and now its just gone. What do I do?

thanks for the help.

All Hotmail email gone after switching to Outlook.com

Every mail message, every folder, every single thing in my Hotmail account (even junk mail) from years' past is gone as of my first login to Outlook.com today. This, of course, is after I began my monthly paid subscription for Office. The only reason I have to believe that my Outlook.com account is the same as my previous Hotmail account is because all of my contacts have been migrated over. It's great to have a brand new Outlook.com account, but not at the expense of several years' worth of lost Hotmail email messages. What happened?!?

Unable to send Outlook.com Email from Gmail using SMTP

Good afternoon.

I have had an email with Microsoft for several years. My original email address was @hotmail.com, which was then changed to @live.com, and is now @outlook.com.

Since the creation of my Hotmail email address, I have been using my Gmail account to manage my email - nothing against Microsoft, but I prefer the filtering and folder creation in Gmail over the various Microsoft web apps for email.

Until recently, I was able to send email in Gmail using my @outlook.com address over SMTP.

For the last few weeks, I have been receiving the following error when attempting to send mail over SMTP for my @outlook.com account using the Gmail web app. Screenshots below:

Can you please advise why this error is occurring and what needs to be done to correct it?

Thank you.

Microsoft Account With Custom Domain; Can I Change It?

08. August 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: custom domain, Hotmail email, microsoft account email
So I have a Microsoft account email that was given to me by a website I was previously affiliated with. I have no idea how this works, but somehow they were able to give me an email with a custom domain instead of @hotmail.com, @outlook.com, etc. I would love to get some info on ho this works because I can no longer contact the website and I am completely in the dark here but I believe the account uses Hotmail email servers. On Outlook, it says my email is a send only address, what does that mean, and why is it not send/receive? I would like to change my email to a regular @outlook.com email address but I cannot rename my primary alias, I think this is because of this weird account type with the custom domain. If I could get some personal help (I don't want to reveal my emails addresses here) that would be fantastic, I have been trying to figure this out for about a year now.

Email issues

My hotmail email account appears to have been closed so I set up a new one but I'm in a dilemma because I have used the old email account in setting up a number of financial accounts, including a recent one, and now that the account id 'closed' I cannot access the messages for this new financial institution confirming my new online savings account. Is it possible to have messages forwarded from my old account?

I have just logged into my hotmail email after a few months of inactivity and discover I am now on outlook and everything is gone. All my emails, all my folders - the only thing I can find is my contacts.

I have searched the internet for an answer -  I have already checked the deleted messages, archive, junk, sent.  I opened in 2 different web browsers - NOTHING!

I was forced to switch to outlook it seems...I only have 1 welcome email from Outlook.com.  I am so devastated.  I have had this account for over 10 years and I have emails in there that I need recovered!!

Please help me with this.

Thank you.

Security hole – Hotmail connector for outlook circumvents 2 factor authentication.

Some advice needed here on software applications which can access my hotmail email.

I have installed on my work PC the outlook hotmail connector which allows me access to my personal hotmail. Subsequently I turned on 2 factor authentication for my hotmail, meaning I use the Authenticator app to type in a code after supplying my normal hotmail username and password.

Outlook, on the other hand, is still syncing with my hotmail account and collecting emails - meaning that the additional security is not being applied here.

This seems like an enormous security hole - If someone got hold of my hotmail account credentials and password, they could presumably use this menthod to get access to my email, and avoid 2 factor authentication altogether.

Can someone please clarify how I can make my applications (like outlook) secure with 2 factor authentication enabled.

I will appreciate any assistance with resolving  issues pertaining to emails from one particular domain/email Server/IP address not coming through to my Hotmail inbox.

Emails from any other domain or corporate account come through into my inbox.  It appears  Hotmail email server/service is blocking emails from the sending server.

Kindly assist with any help to resolve this issue.
