IE10 breaks Outlook

17. September 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: hotmail, Hotmail Account

After experiencing a number of problems in IE 9, I decided to go IE 10. After that change, I was not able to send an attachment in Hotmail with ie10. I was able to browse for the file and select it, but as soon as the upload was kicked off the window would crash. As an experiment I went to Google Chrome and logged into Hotmail and was able to send a file without a problem. To top it off I went back to IE10 and logged into another email system and attached a file and sent it to my Hotmail account. The file was received in my Hotmail account and I was able to open it. So the problem is when I try to attach a file in Hotmail with IE10.

I am up to date with patches and am using Windows 7 which is 64 bit, but it appears ie 10 is 32 bit.  Silverlight is up to date also as I verified that. Tried to update ie10 to 64 bit but it stops me and says I have the most current version. Should I give it up and just go to GOOGLE CHROME?

Having worked in IT for over 30 years and now retired, I moved to IE a long time and versions ago even though I liked Netscape as my company was running IE.

Empty Inbox After Logging into New Outlook.com

17. September 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: Hotmail Account, inbox

I logged into my Hotmail account and was presented with a notification that my inbox had been upgraded.

After pressing ok the only email I saw in my inbox was one from Outlook.com. Could someone help me recover my emails as there are some very critical ones that I need.

Waiting Period

16. September 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: Hotmail Account, Hotmail email, Waiting period

Ok..here we go again. Same issue as others when updating this Security stuff. So here I am trying to help another Hotmail Account user...why? Because in order to get support for your problem, you have to sign in with your Hotmail account. Well, thats wonderful unless the problem is with your Hotmail email. So how is this user supposed to request support from MS if your Hotmail is the very account she cannot access. Just going around in circles.

So she updated her security info....so now we have a 30 day waiting period.  Microsoft, you CANNOT be serious. So she has no access to email for 30 days. Wow......really...and yet your a Company that seems to wrap an email address around everything you do, making EMAIL THE MOST IMPORTANT INTEGRATED PART OF THE PUZZLE, and if that person EVER has an email issue, seems like the whole world will blow up in ones face.

She has tried repeatedly to sign in and is always faced with:

"We have a waiting period for the updates to take effect. Come back at (30 days from now) Xmas and maybe we'll let you log in. Once this is deleted, you'll have to go through this whole process again with info you have access to"

hahahah, sure and then what...wait another 30 days??

So she is going to be without emauil for 60 days.....minimum??

Not sure if you could have sent her a bigger invetation to join an alternate online email provider. Having to wait 30 days to get into email is by far the most insane thing I have ever heard.

Can you tell Steve he won't have email for 30 days too....Just wanna see the look on his face. Tell him your doing some minor updates which shouldn't take to long.

What A Joke......

Hotmail stopped receiving Cricket texts

16. September 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: Cricket phones, hotmail, Hotmail Account
On a regular basis I use my Outlook(Hotmail) account to message back and forth with friends and family on their phones via their texts.  I've never had any issues til recently when my Hotmail address stopped receiving any texts from Cricket phones.

the Cricket # has no error on their phone and the message shows it was sent
the Cricket # DOES receive messages from Hotmail
the Cricket # has no problem with messages sent & received to other email accounts like Yahoo or Gmail
a 2nd Cricket # was tested and message was also not received by Hotmail

Hotmail receives texts from other phone companies like Sprint and Verizon with no problems
Junkmail is checked daily
Blocked senders list was checked
Even though the Cricket number is in my address book I still added them to the safe sender list
2nd Hotmail account was tested and also did not receive text from Cricket

The problem is specifically with Cricket phones and Hotmail accounts.  I don't know of anything else I can check or test.  The problem is frustrating and like I said I've not had any issues before.  It is probably going around 2 weeks now.

Has something changed with Hotmail that it is not letting Cricket texts come through?  What else can I possibly check on my end?  Would like this to be fixed soon as possible.  Thanks

IP Address Log Request for Hotmail Account

I believe my Hotmail account has been hacked at least twice in the last few weeks.  I would like to obtain the IP address log for my account.  As suggested by similar requests I've seen posted on this forum, I have successfully completed the account verification process.  Please let me know what the next step should be.

HELP!!! “It looks like someone else might be using your account…”

14. September 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: hotmail, Hotmail Account

Hi, Forum Moderators

I couldn't sign in to my Hotmail account since yesterday and it keeps giving me the message “It looks like someone else might be using your account…” I tried to reset my password but I am getting the same message. I also did my best to follow the instructions to send as much information as possible by submitting an Account Recovery questionnaire online. Since my Hotmail account was created  long time ago, I could not remember the security answer, I didn't have a credit card Xbox billing information associated with this account either. But I did try to ask my friends to give me the email information (subjects) I sent to them to fill in the form. I have tried three times and I am still getting the email saying that the information I provide is not enough to verify my ownership of this account.

I really need to access my Hotmail account. Please help me!!! Thank you!

Maggie

How can I get my hotmail account back ?

Hi,

I cannot login outlook.com or Skype or msn messenger with my hotmail account. The account name is "*** Email address is removed for privacy ***"
I think it maybe because I haven't login this account for long time (around 1 year).
But this account was registered around 1999 and I used it for 10+ years, there are so much important contacts and emails in it.
Is there any way I can recover my hotmail account ? or just allow me login messenger/skype with it ?
Very appreciate it anyone can help.
Thanks !

Best Regards,
Jackie Ju
