I use Windows Live Mail as my e-mail. Suddenly, the past 2 weeks, my computer has begun to label as "dangerous file type" about 80% of my attachments. I KNOW these are not dangerous - it even blocked an attachment I sent to myself!
The only advice Microsoft gives is to allow ALL attachments - opening my computer up to viruses. Obviously, this is not a solution.
Can I do something to stop my computer from suddenly having begun this annoying practice? Not sure if "settings and personalization" is the correct topic for this question, but am taking a chance. I use Norton as my security - in case this has anything to do with the problem.
If I send an email with attachment (photo) to my wife's outlook.com account or to my outlook.com account (using my Office 365 account) it does not appear to arrive if we look for it using MS Outlook (the office program) or using Windows Mail but if we look for it by logging in using Internet Explorer it is there.
It is not a file size issue and emails without attachments are visible in Outlook or Windows Mail as normal.
Also, there is a hotmail prompt at the bottom of my email page telling me to add contacts. It blocks the skip page, forward page, back page buttons and there is no way to cancel the prompt...
Thanks-
Patrick
Suddenly, I'm not able to upload files as attachments to my emails! I'm trying to apply for work and this is seriously hindering my efforts. Please help??
When I click on an attachment, either to 'Download' or to 'Download All As Zip', nothing happens. I get no error message, no attempted download, no option windows. Outlook gives no impression that it is trying to do anything.
I now have to use Internet Explorer to download attachments, which I do not want to do. I would be grateful for any advice so that I can download my attachments again.
