Unfortunately, we were unable to verify your ownership of this account using the information you provided. Microsoft takes the security and privacy of your personal information very seriously, and we are committed to protecting the personal information of customers. We have taken the additional step of blocking your account *** Email address is removed for privacy *** until we can verify you as the account owner. Now apparently I have reached all the maximum attempts. I need my email to access my work related stuff and getting frustrated as there is nowhere to turn to as you do not have any helpline. Any chance to get in contact with me so I can provide you with my details and you can send me the verification link to my other alternative address please?

Thanks Hana

Recovering Hotmail Password.

Hello everyone-

I am trying to recover my primary Hotmail account. I have successfully verified that I am the account owner twice, but have failed to receive the 'other' email with a link to reset the password. The first time the account was verified was last Thursday and also verified it again this morning. Is there anything else I need do to? Anything else I can do?

This is a part of the email from the 'account verified' email:
We have confirmed that you are the owner of @hotmail.com. An additional email with a link to reset your password has been sent to this email address.

Thanks in advance,
-Mike Anderson

getting emails for previous account owner

I am getting email for the person who had my email address prior. Why would this be happening? They are all facebook postings and emails and I have tried to unsubscribe to no avail. Facebook hasn't responded either, but it seems when you create a new email account the previous information of the owner would be erased

Microsoft Account Broken

My Microsoft account is broken, the account that I wish to access tells me that I need to verify that I am the account owner - however, all of my security question information is old/outdated and the contact email is incorrect thus leaving me completely unable to access said account and all of the Microsoft applications attached to the account IE. Xbox live and Zune. Nothing is working in the retrieval of my account - the verification form has been tried SEVERAL TIMES and the info is outdated and INCORRECT thus this solution is NOT WORKING.

I really need a new answer please - this is a rather frustrating situation.

Hotmail.com account was being logged in by another user and the account was being locked

To whom it may concern,

When I tried to log in to my email account (**Email address removed due to privacy) this morning, the webpage popped up with message saying there is a possibility that there is someone currently using your account and if I (the email account owner) would like to take back the account, Microsoft would need to verify your account and provided with this link https://account.live.com/acsr for my further processing.  I have created another account **Email address removed due to privacy** this morning in order to verify my account. However, since this **Email address removed due to privacy** account had been created in Australia, Victoria more than 10 years when I studied in Australia for university course, so I received 2 emails from Microsoft with subject "Microsoft Account - Unmonitored Automated Email (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***)" saying I failed the verification process by referring to the limited information which I could provide.

So, that's way I would like to seek help from the Community website, so I can open my email accounts again and to have access to the important information from my email account.  Please feel free to contact me via **Email address removed due to privacy** or **Contact number removed due to privacy**(i.e. can direct me to HK support centre) for any more information required which I can help to verify I am the account owner.

Below are the further info I can provide:

**Removed due to privacy**

Best regards,

We recently received a request to recover your Microsoft account xxxxxx@hotmail.com. Unfortunately, our automated system has determined that the information you provided was not sufficient for us to validate your account ownership.  Microsoft takes the security and privacy of our customers very seriously, and our commitment to protecting your personal information requires that we take the utmost care in ensuring that you are the account owner.

We have taken the additional step of blocking your account *** Email address is removed for privacy *** until we can verify you as the account owner. This will prevent any further use of the account, and protect you from any possible malicious activity.

Please submit a new account verification form

At this point, your best option is to submit a new form with as much accurate information as you can gather. The more information you can include in the form, the better the chance you’ll have of regaining access to your account. We’ve included a few tips below to help you fill out the form as completely as possible.

> Submit a new form

Helpful tips for filling out another form:

  • Answer as many questions as you can.
  • Use the information you provided when you created the account, or last updated it.
  • Submit the form from a computer you frequently use.
  • You will be asked to list recently used email addresses and the subject lines from recent emails. Ask for help from family members, friends, or business contacts to confirm their email addresses and tell you the subject lines of the last three emails they sent you.
  • Make sure to use the correct domain for your account, such as hotmail.com, live.com, or outlook.com. Keep in mind that your email address may be country specific. For example, if you created your account in Sweden, your domain would be “hotmail.co.se” rather than “hotmail.com”.
