I am being blocked from my hotmail account? Because I am being asked for a telephone number and alternative email address!

For the last 2 weeks or so, after entering my account details and password for my hotmail account, MICROSOFT have demanded a telephone number or alternative email account details in order for me to access my account.  I contacted using the link within the information for 'help' ....and had a reply that my account had been 'hacked' and my account was producing spam, and it was not MICROSOFT that was asking for this information?!!  This was also the reply when I telephoned on Monday!  The operator wanted permission to carry out a process to access my laptop?...."In order to rectify the problem!"  Tonight, I have finally relented and given further personal information, (I can see no reason that this enhances my security, far from it!)  Microsoft can now monitor BOTH of my email accounts if they so choose!!  Does anyone know HOW or WHY not complying with the 'request' for a telephone number or alternative email address, permits me to be locked out of MY personal email account if I do not supply it?  Or indeed, how sharing this further personal information with MICROSOFT enhances my security?  When clearly scare tactics regarding my account being 'hacked' were being employed to obtain this information, and to have access to my laptop!  When I relented and gave another email account details, miraculously, the alleged 'hacking' difficulty appears to have vanished and I can now access my account..... wonder if I it is STILL producing spam??!!  Has anyone else experienced this kind of blackmail so that they can again access their account?

There’s a problem with signing you in If you continue to have this problem, please report it to Microsoft.

Since this morning, I am having trouble opening my inbox. It seems that I have signed it, since I can access my account details, but I can't access my inbox. I tried cleaning the browser history, restarting computer, installing Windows Live mail but nothing has worked. The error message on Windows Live mail is:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Live (*******) account.

Server Error: 5102
Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE20003

Is that an issue with the service or something wrong with my account ?

Thanks,
Habib

when signing in to my account, I just get taken to the profile and account details page, and can never access my email

I sign into my account to check my email, but I then get routed to my profile and account details page. It won't let me go to mail.

Then I click the reset password link, it sends my reset password link to my alias email address. I then follow the steps to reset my password, isign in again, and it routs me right back to the profile and account details page???

How can I close that page out and go to my email page???

Hotmail account compromised. All information changed. How can I delete it?

Hi,

I used to have an account at *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. Now someone else has logged into it and changed all the account details.

I can't delete the account - because I can't log in. I can't email Microsoft, because they don't provide any support beyond a FAQ and the hopefully good folks of this forum. There's a page to fill in questions about the account that I opened over a decade ago, which I've filled out, but I don't want access back.  The trust is gone.

I want the account gone. It's not mine any more and it can only cause me pain that someone else controls it. And noone needs another load of spam coming from yet another hotmail address. How can I delete it? If someone on here can erase the account, please do so.

I am astonished by how difficult this is proving to do. Any ideas?

Regards

Jon

Can’t Activate new microsoft account

Hi,

I've created a new Microsoft account however, I never receive the activation email and when I try to resend now I get varying messages along the lines of "We were unable to send you an email. Try again later."

I've tried to follow some of the directions in response on here but nothings worked, could you get in contact so I can provide the account details for this new account.

I've been through the password reset step which worked and sent the reset email to an alternate email address, but when I logged in after resetting the email I was again asked to wait for a verification email in my inbox.

Help??!!

Cannot Access Business Hotmail Account

I purchased a business with an associated Hotmail account last year have been actively using it. However, I cannot access the Hotmail account.

I have been asked to provide personal details of the original account holder who has since passed away after me purchasing the business.

How can I reinstate the account and change the account details to mine? I can provide evidence that I have been using the account for the past eight months.

Many thanks

I cannot log in to my Skydrive

I get an error massage saying "Internet Explorer cannot display this webpage" or "This web page is not available" in Chrome Browser, when i'm trying to log in to my skydrive account from the PC in my work place. I could view my inbox few hours before and now i can't find even my inbox. Anyway, the only thing I  can do is editing my account details. I cannot view anything else in my skydrive.

But it is working fine in my laptop and my android. I face this problem only when I'm using the PC in my office. It has Windows 7 as the operating system. I even tried deleting cookies of the browser as you had once instructed to a person who raised the same question. but, still it doesn't work.

Please help me in this.

Thanks in advance.
