So a problem occurred to me today when I tried downloading my account on a friend's Xbox. The error was: "Sorry, there's a problem with the credentials that you're using to sign in. Go to https://account.live.com to fix the problem."
So I do that. And when I try to log in, I get the error: "It looks like someone else might be using your account
To help you—and only you—get back into *** Email address is removed for privacy *** we need to verify that it's yours."
I go through the recovery process, and I get the email verification to my other email account. (The email account registered to the microsoft account does not exist anymore.) I followed the steps which the email gave me and reset my password. Then I went
to log in again to deal with the first problem, and I'm back to square one, I have the error: "It looks like someone else might be using your account To help you—and only you—get back into *** Email address is removed for privacy *** we need to verify that it's yours."
This becomes an endless and tiring loop. I need a solution. I cannot access my microsoft account nor change credentials on it except for resetting the password and getting the same error message as posted above.
Please, please, don't give me the copied and pasted solution I see over and over again, it hasn't worked before, it won't work now. Believe me, I'm exhausted with this loop of problems.
So don't give me:
Please follow the steps below to go to Microsoft account recovery if you're unable to access the account:
1. Click on this link.
2. Click on the third option: I Think Someone Else is using my Windows Live ID.
3. Select Reset your Password option.
4. Enter the Microsoft account you are trying to recover.
5. Enter the characters you see on the picture, and then tick on Next.
6. Click on I can’t use any of these options.
7. Re-enter the Microsoft account you are trying to recover. Under Where should we contact you?, Enter an email address that's different from the one you're trying to recover.
8. Click on Next.
If you passed, you'll get the reset link right away to your alternate email account entered on step #9. If the system needs further validation with the information you have provided on the questionnaire, it may take 24 hours.
I've tried.
Thanks in advance!
