I have some references to the above issue with Windows Live Email.  Some of the solutions
go back as far as 2010. My computer is running Win7 sp1, IExplorer10 on an Acer Laptop.

The problem with my Windows Live Mail is that it starts, downloads my email, and then pops up a message saying,
"Sorry.  Something unexpected happened and Windows Live Mail must close."  It is the solution to this issue with which I have a problem.
I can work with my emails if I move the popup window out of the way.  Otherwise, clicking on the okay box in the popup will close my
Windows Live software.  There appears to be nothing wrong with the software; it works just fine.

Most of the suggested solutions I have found so far referred to updating or reinstalling the software by going to:

Control Panel - Programs - Windows Live
 and then "repairing" the install.
But, I do not have the software listed in Programs by that name or any other.

I installed Windows Essentials that included 6 packages, none of which are listed in Programs and

all of which are in the Start Menu as separate items with the exception of Live Writer which has
a folder all its own.

I have not yet tried a reinstall because I cannot uninstall through the Control Panel.

I know how to work around that by Exporting my messages and then removing the programs by

brute force,, but that would be unnecessarily messy if someone could suggest a more elegant
solution.

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Interestingly, I am getting answers already in my Windows
Live Email software that still has the popup that wants me to close it.

Thanks.
