Hello everyone,

As many of you are encountering this problem (office365 bull****) I thought I would give you my way of resolving it.


First I d like to clarify what my issue was to make sure you fit into the category:
            Essentially yesterday I began linking my e-mail accounts through forwarding between gmail and outlook to have all my e-mails in one place and what not. At this point I also created a new Alias that belonged to my school e-mail "@students.uu.nl ".

What I did then was make my student e-mail my PRIMARY ALIAS.

Right after doing this I could no longer log into my Hotmail/outlook account as a result of this "This account can't be used to access Outlook.com..." error.

Now, at first I did not realize what in the world was going on and since my e-mail is not "@sample.edu" format and since it never even used Microsoft account (it uses gmail actually ...where it works perfectly) I was very frustrated because I did not use office 365 nor did I use a edu e-mail and thus I did not fall into any of the categories on how to resolve the problem. (clearing cache etc..).

After lots of researching and trial and error I discovered that indeed my school has some sort of link to microsoft but its just never used nor advertized.

At this point in order to fix the problem all I did was sing in to the microsoft account ( the one you use to post here), went into Settings-> Account aliases --> and I removed my school e-mail as my primary alias.

Afterwards my hotmail/outlook e-mail worked just fine!

However I believe this will only work in certain cases which are similar to mine.
