I am new to Outlook for mac - but familiar with Outlook for PC (which I really regret leaving!)

SMART FOLDERS 

ONE

I have set up two Smart Folders for UNREAD messages in the two email adress I am using.

for the ruels for these folders I have

1. Status - IS - UNREAD

2. Folder - IS NOT - Deleted ITEMS

3. Folder - IS NOT - Spam

4. Account - IS - the relevant email account

the smart box works fine until I do a search for unrelated item either by subject or email address or whatever using the search bar and looking in ALL MAIL

then in each of these Smart Folders two rules (usually #2 and #3) or more go back to NONE and my smart folder is no longer refining as it should from Spam folder, deleted items, or the other email account. How do I stop the rules on the SMART FOLDER collapsing wiht a new search?

TWO

I keep getting loads of unread in the smart folders from a folder TEMPORARY ITEMS. I dont know where that folder is, or why its storing unread mail. wher eis this folder and how do I get rid of it / stop it showing UNREAD in the Smart Folder

THREE can I have the smart folders appear at the top of the email folder tree instead of at the bottom (as per Outlook for PC)

clues? pls keep it simple too!
