Skype / Windows Live connection – now can’t send emails on iPad or iPhone

I just connected Skype and Windows Live.  Now I can't send emails from my iPad and iPhone.  I can recieve but not send.  When setting up,  I have no other options but to turn S/MIME on or off.  Please help
