A couple of week’s back I noted that the skydrive sync had stop and I was being prompted to restart. I did this think nothing of it.

Yesterday (06/10/2013) I went to save some new photos into my skydrive folder and found to my horror all my photographs missing (c.32GB). I checked the cloud version and it was the same. Note other documents had not been touched.

In my desktops recycled bin was the picture folder which I restored. All the sub-folders restored but only a few very recent photos where there.

In the recycle bin in the cloud the picture folder is shown (size c.32GB) however it won’t let me restore it, saying "This item might have been deleted, expired or you might not have permission to access it. Contact the owner of this item for more information".

I have put my trust (and money) in Microsoft to provide me with an online backup system for my documents and it appears to have failed me with my most precious items; my photos.

Please, please, please can you investigate if my photos can be retrieved?
