Since the hotmail to outlook switch, all my emails and folders have gone. Where are they? I have tried the recover deleted emails.

Since the hotmail to outlook switch, all my emails and folders have gone.This is over 6years worth of emails. Where are they? I have tried the recover deleted emails option but there are no emails to recover apparently.
